CM: Milan left with regret as price of RB Leipzig striker continues to rise

Benjamin Sesko continues to impress after his move to RB Leipzig and he could become one of Milan’s mercato regrets, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com recall that he scored two goals in just three minutes in the Bundesliga on Sunday, and yesterday he managed a goal and two assists with the Slovenian national team.

The clues arrived last season that the 20-year-old could be the next big talent to emerge from the Red Bull ‘factory’ as he scored 18 goals with Red Bull Salzburg before his pre-agreed step up to Leipzig.

He made the decision to join the German club even in the face of a proposal from Milan, after Paolo Maldini met with the striker’s entourage to try and agree a deal in June 2022.

Now, for the Rossoneri the 20-year-old could become a regret. Milan remain interested, but his price could reach almost unattainable heights given it is already around €40-50m and could rise further with more goals.

As soon as the 20-year-old manages to take the starting place at Leipzig (until now he has always come off the bench) his numbers could become devastating.

  1. When you’re a larger team in Europe, there will be countless young talents that you were once interested in who eventually become huge. It’s inevitable. I think it is the sign of a good scouting network. Unfortunately you can’t buy every good young player you identify.

  2. Honestly, I’ve followed him as my countryman and before this leap to Leipzig, I considered him overhyped. He started new season strong both in new club and for Slovenia. Hope he continues.

  3. Either Sesko or Scamacca. Those should have been the strikers that Milan should have went for. Both avaliable for around 25mil. What a waste, this was the perfect summer for a striker. Now no one is avaliable.

    1. Personally I was rooting for Scamacca from few seasons back. And the last summer was probably the best chance in getting him with a ‘logical’ price. Too bad our path didn’t cross.

    2. Sesko is unavailable. He just moved to Leipzig, this season is his first season at Leipzig. Earlier in the mercato it is already confirmed that he is not open for a move.

  4. Milan has so. many regrets from Maldini & Massara time, like Enzo Fernandes for one… therefore, we better hope that the new signings turn out to be OK, and don’t dwell in regrets about what could’ve been!

    1. Another TROLL lol.

You conveniently forget we could have purchased Szlobazlai, W Fofana, Manu Koné, Botman, Dani Olmo, etc….all for 25M and under – had ownership given us the $$ M&M requested to do so. Now how much are they all worth???

Be accurate if your going to attempt to slander someone kid. State ALL the facts and don’t just cherry pick those that suit you.

      Pathetic.

      MOVE ON

    2. Enzo was Cardinale’s regret, not Maldini. It was Cardinale who made Milan had no chance for Enzo. Cardinale only agreed on transfer budget 10 days after Enzo signed contract with Benfica. Stop trying to rewrite history.
