CM: Milan reach agreement in principle over renewal of Tonali – the details

AC Milan want to reward Sandro Tonali for his tremendous growth over the past year by giving him a big pay rise, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that there is one eye on the market and a potential midfielder who will arrive to complete the department, but in the mean time Stefano Pioli can welcome Tonali back having disposed of the flexor problem sustained in the friendly against Vicenza.

He is ready to take back the reins of the midfield in Bergamo, one which now looks an awful lot stronger with him in the rotations, while Maldini and Massara will be forced to accelerate for reinforcements on the market due to Rade Krunic’s injury.

Aside from new signings, the Rossoneri management are also thinking about extending the contracts of key players and negotiations are advancing for the renewal of Tonali’s contract. The parties have already reached an agreement in principle over a pay rise to €3m net per year, with an extended deadline of one or two years compared to the current 2026.
