CM: Why Milan could sacrifice Adli despite his desire to stay – the details

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan could sell Yacine Adli to make space for other midfield targets despite the player showing no interest in leaving the club this summer.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are very serious about signing Youssouf Fofana and Lazar Samardzic for the midfield this summer and that means that at least one player from that department must be sold.

The two prime suspects are Ismael Bennacer and Adli, and there is serious interest in the latter from teams in the Saudi Pro League.

It is an unfortunate situation for Adli who has shown no sign of wanting to leave, despite playing a bit-part role last season and seemingly not having a starting spot under Paulo Fonseca. He would be willing to stay and fight for a spot in the team, but Milan really want Fofana in particular.

Milan would listen to offers in the region of €15-20m for Adli and there is interest not only from Saudi Arabia but also Qatar.

The final say really falls to Adli as he can’t be forced to accept a move elsewhere. Should Milan accept a bid for him, the Frenchman will be forced to make a tough decision on the next stage of his career.

  1. Adli loves the club. If you tell him that his leaving is in the best interests to grow the club and make it stronger, he would likely accept…

    1. So manipulation then..
Cause that sounds like manipulating his love for the club. When he could also be used to play, or is he not as good as reinjders??
