Milan brought in Soualiho Meite on a paid loan from Torino in January, adding some much-needed depth to the midfield department. However, it seems the Frenchman will return to Turin in the summer.
The 27-year-old has made 17 appearances for the Rossoneri since his arrival and although he has had a few good games, the consistency has been lacking. Therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are leaning towards letting him go.
According to Calciomercato.com, they have scheduled a meeting with the agent of Meite to take stock of the situation. But as things stand, paying the €8m redemption seems very unlikely as the performances haven’t been spectacular.
And if Meite leaves, we can expect a reinforcement in midfield ahead of next season. A lot will depend on whether Milan can get Champions League or not, as there would be a big difference budget-wise. Hopefully, they will sort it out in the last four games.
