As Calciomercato.com report, the goalless draw against Newcastle highlighted a need that was evident to most even before the last window opened: a new striker is needed that guarantees goals.
In the summer of 2024 this need can no longer be postponed, and the management know this which is why they are aiming to be prepared ahead of time.
The strong candidate remains Jonathan David of Lille. Giorgio Furlani plans to leverage his good relations with the Ligue 1 club to lower the €55m request for the Canadian.
Another name on the list is that of Roko Šimić, son of former Milan defender Dario Simic. Born in 2003, he plays for Red Bull Salzburg and will be observed constantly during the course of the season, especially in the Champions League.
The dream remains Benjamin Šeško, who has had a devastating impact at RB Leipzig. He has only been getting a few minutes but has been scoring regularly (three goals in four games).
The feeling is that he is destined for the Premier League but it is the profile ‘considered ideal by Gerry Cardinale for Milan’.
