Pierre Kalulu of AC Milan

CM: Milan could sell Kalulu to make room for a new defensive signing

AC Milan are contemplating the idea of selling Pierre Kalulu and using the money to sign a new defender, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan have identified a couple of players that could join as flexible defenders playing in the middle or at right back.

At the same time, they are aware that there is an opportunity to make a serious capital gain on Kalulu given he arrived from Lyon for less than €500,000.

He made himself a key part of the team during the 2021/22 campaign but his influence did wain during the most recent season as the whole team struggled for confidence at times.

Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda and Torino’s Wilfried Singo are the players that Milan could potentially make a move for, but there are no offers for Kalulu on the table right now. The club are aware they could end up with two many players on the right side of defence.

    1. How do you figure? We could use upgrading Kalulu and since we got him on the cheap why not cash out and elevate quality?

      1. BECAUSE we DO NOT NEED to sell Kalulu to buy Singo or any other player for that matter

You conveniently FORGET we just sold Tonali for 65M AND have 120M UCL $$$ just sitting there that we have yet to spend. That is 185M to spend plus the 35M budget given this year. AND we are now a PROFITABLE CLUB

So don’t buy the BS PR SPIN from Redbird that we “NEED” to sell in order to buy. We DON’T.

Now does anyone really think we will spend 100-185M in transfers???? LOLOLOLO

It’s hilarious – that people think just because we sell a player – we will automatically RE-INVEST ALL of that $$$ back into the team – LMAO!!! That hasn’t happened yet and zero indication that it ever will.

Redbird pocketed the 120M from UCL and again want to use player sales to fund our transfer campaign – YET – when the opportunity arises to purchase a player we want – Chuzukwe, Pulsic, Reijders, – we still cannot – and now we need to sell even more CORE players to buy LOL.

The POINT is we should BUY Singo AND KEEP Kalulu – IF the INTENT IS TO COMPETE for UCL. Nobody in their right mind would rely on Gabbia and Kajer as the starting CB in UCL in the event Tomori or Thiaw went down with injury.

Kalulu is a versatile defender cabable of playing CB and RB. Gabbia is below average and should be loaned out. Kajer is 34 and coming off injury. So hence the need to keep Kalulu.

So you want to sell? Sell Origi, Rebic, Messias, and I’m sure CDK, etc….and NOT more CORE players.

BUT ALAS – that is the Problem. Redbird isn’t that interested in WINNING – Just PROFIT – so we will probably sell Kalulu for a nice PROFIT and they will pocket the MAJORITY OF THE $$$ just like they pocketed the 120M UCL PRIZE MONEY.

        1. With you 100, I’m still recovering from that Tonali sale, I don’t know why we need to do another rebuild when we already identified young pleyers that are up to the task.

        2. “Redbird pocketed the 120M from UCL”

Nope. They didn’t “pocket” anything. Without the prize money the season would have ended once again in losses. If I remember correctly the season ended with something like 20M€ profit. Take away the UCL-money and it would have been a disaster. Again.

You really think they owners get to keep the money that is left over the budget? How naive is that. Insanely naive.

        3. “Kajer is 34 and coming off injury.”

KJAER recovered from the injury like 4-5 months ago already. 34? So he still has 2-3 good years left if he works hard.

  1. LOL

I am sure some Cardinale bootlicker is gonna come up $ucking and cumguzzling Cardinale’s d1ck trying to justify why we should sell Kalulu immediately to fill Cardinale’s coffers any moment now lmfao. C’mon bootlickers.. it aint the time for slacking. Get on with it. lol

  2. This is the dumbest thing thwy could do. Even if kalulus performance did wain last season he has such high potential. This kid is one to keep for the future. He can fill CB and RB.

    1. He’s been versatile for sure but given the direction of the club, if a good offer comes in for him, they will definitely offload.

  3. so it’s not enough selling tonali, now we’re gonna sell kalulu coz we dont have enough money? lol..what’s next? sell thiaw and leao? hey POLI the asslicker, where are you??

  4. I mentioned in another post last month…once they sold Tonali…they’ll just keep selling. Why would they even think of selling Kalulu, these people running Milan right now are real jokers.

    1. Why? The article gives you the answer…

“AC Milan are contemplating the idea of selling Pierre Kalulu and using the money to sign a new defender,”

“Milan have identified a couple of players that could join as flexible defenders playing in the middle or at right back.”

“Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda and Torino’s Wilfried Singo are the players that Milan could potentially make a move for,”

  5. Of all the possible defenders they are looking at right now which is better than Kalulu and can play both as right back and centre back and this young?

  6. I watch couple of Kalulu games in u21 last couple weeks. He lost Pelegri in the Italy game that resulted in a goal and he was France worst defender vs Ukraine, even conceited a penalty.
As a defender he is often caught ball chasing like a cat chasing a laser pointer. His positioning is not good. Lost his spot in the line up last year.
His development was stunned by the lack of CB depth by Milan when he was forced to play inside instead of as his natural position as a full back. He isn’t a CB and now he is bad as a full back.
He looked good for a 10 games stretch in 2022 when Pioli played 3 defensive midfielders (Kessie,Tonali, Krunic) in front of Kalulu Tomori and fooled people into thinking that those 2 are good CBs. They got exposed last year without that protection called Frank Kessie.
From the CBs the only 1 I wouldn’t sell is Thiaw, the rest can be sold and upgraded upon.

    1. Absolutely. I don’t understand why folks are panicking… Kalulu isn’t all that good. I wouldn’t mind selling him, as long as he gets replaced with a player of high potential.

      1. If one of the lawn mower guys at the San Siro resigns they’ll have a meltdown and start trashing Cardinale.

  7. Aungo sucks. So overrated. Solid attacker. Can’t defend for the life of him. Fresneda seems like he has top class potential however but will take some time

  8. Selling players and using the money to buy different players?!?! Madness!!! Who ever heard of anything like this before???

    1. Haha I know – it’s like we’re at Year Zero of Football and everyone’s only just realizing players get bought and sold.

      1. As usual, the most uninformed are taking the loudest. On top of that it seems half of the “fans” here would rather see RedBird fail than succeed so they can be vindicated in their point of view. Strange times in the AC Milan fan universe indeed.

        1. Absolutely. They actually want Milan to fail because they don’t like the owners. I just wish they’d follow through on their promises of p*ssing off to support Juve or someone.

  9. If they get an offer of 30 millions for him while he was brought in for half a million, it’s a huge capital gain for them and club. They buy Fresneda for 10 millions and rest goes to Cardinale’s pocket. He has a huge interest loan to repay remember? Cardinale is the Glazer of Serie A.

  10. No way, doesn’t even make sense.
Kalulu is a very good RB, why sell him to purchase another?

I hope this is a joke.

  11. Hmmm wy not sell florenzi instead of kalulu I don’t get it infact it doesn’t make sense.what if the player comes and failed.

      1. Even if he is free transfer , no club want him with his 3m euro nett salary. Only our previous director like him so he activate buy option & give him contract till 2025 so he can get easy money 3m euro nett/ years. Wkwkwkwk
