CM: Milan send message to Gotze’s agency as Dortmund exit looms – Rangnick keen on move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still evaluating the idea of offering a contract to pending free agent Mario Gotze ahead of next season, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Gotze will not renew his contract with Borussia Dortmund which expires at the end of the month and the Rossoneri have him in mind with another revolution seemingly on the cards under Ralf Rangnick this summer.

His entourage are evaluating the offers coming from abroad, with the 27-year-old ready for a new adventure despite interest from Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

Gotze wants a move to Italy as Serie A is a destination that fascinates the former Bayern Munich playmaker, while his wife – the model Ann-Kathrin Brömmel – is pushing for a move to Milan.

Rangnick and Milan hold Gotze in high esteem – as do Lazio and OGC Nice – but none of the teams interested have made an offer purely due to economic reasons.

The Germany international is asking for a salary in line with what he receives at Signa Iduna Park at around €7m, and Milan have informed his representatives that without a downsizing of his requests it is difficult to think about a negotiation.
