CM: Milan set Maignan price tag – renewal talks planned amid high demands

AC Milan want to tie Mike Maignan down to a long-term deal, but it will not be easy because the demands from his entourage are high according to a report.

Having arrived from the Ligue 1 club as the replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer of 2021, Maignan quickly earned the nickname ‘Magic Mike’ for his incredible interventions.

He was a big part of the Scudetto win that came in that campaign, and he has even shown himself to have a knack for playmaking given his assists record.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Geoffrey Moncada and the other directors are discussing a possible contract renewal with the Frenchman’s agents which will involve a pay rise to reflect his status as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

Milan will try to agree a long-term deal with the former Lille man but it won’t be easy because the demands that have emerged from the first rounds of talks are high.

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Maignan too given that they must find a replacement for Manuel Neuer and they are lining up a summer move.

However, the report mentions that the Milan management would not entertain offers that are any less than €80m.
