CM: Milan set sights on €45m Sporting starlet as search for left-back continues

By Isak Möller -

Theo Hernandez is the undisputed starter on Milan’s left flank, having become a key player for the team since his arrival from Real Madrid last summer. However, the Rossoneri also need a competent backup in the squad.

Currently, they only have Diego Laxalt and the Uruguayan hasn’t exactly impressed since he returned from his loan at Torino in January. According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan have set their sights on a youngster.

Nuno Mendes, the 18-year-old who plays for Sporting Lisbon, is on their radar after an impressive ending to this past season. Portuguese outlet O Jogo reported earlier today that Milan already have made a €15m offer for the player, which was rejected.

The left-back, as the report continues, has a €45m release clause in his contract and the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd are also interested. It remains to be seen if Milan will make a new offer for the player.
