CM: Milan take step forward in talks with Chelsea as €30m midfielder deal is close

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on being able to announce the return of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Bakayoko’s return is approaching after new steps forward were made on Wednesday. Milan are intending to close the operation as soon as possible, as also confirmed during the preseason press conference on Tuesday.

The player has long dreamed of returning to Milan and already has an agreement with the Rossoneri on the basis of a salary at around €3million per season, while the final details remain to be resolved with Chelsea.

The report adds that there is a couple of million distance between Milan’s offer and Chelsea’s request. The English club are open to a loan with option to buy but the right figures must be found.

The parties are working to close an operation that will include the possibility of signing Bakayoko permanently for a figure of about €30million. Contacts intensified even in the last hours, and it is expected that Bakayoko will return to Milan and will make himself available to Stefano Pioli soon.
