CM: Milan to meet Leao’s lawyer early in January – the current situation

Rafael Leao’s contract renewal is at the top of the priority list for AC Milan and a date has been set for the next meeting with his representatives, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that there is still a distance between the parties despite the messages of affection towards Milan via social media from Leao while his team-mates, Stefano Pioli and management publicly urge him to renew and continue his development at the club.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have raised their offer beyond the previously established €6m ceiling (net per season), reaching up to €7m including bonuses, but the offers that are floating around Leao’s orbit at the moment exceed double figures in millions and complicate things.

The next meeting will serve to reaffirm the positions of the parties and, if possible, to try to close the gap that exists today. It will be in early January when the lawyer Ted Dimvula will return to Italy. Given that the market will be open, this summit could also shift the future of Leao and Milan in one direction or another.
