CM: Milan told they can sign Everton Soares for €45m; player wants move

AC Milan have been told the price that they would need to pay Gremio to land Everton Soares in January, a report claims.

Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Italia (cited by MilanNews.it) towards the end of the window that Milan were looking at Everton as a potential alternative to Angel Correa of Atletico Madrid.

A recent update update from Calciomercato.com claimed that Everton has made it clear that he wants to play in Europe, and has even put Milan at the top of the list of preferences in terms of his next club.

According to an exclusive from the same outlet, Milan were strongly interested in signing Everton as an alternative to Angel Correa, however they didn’t have enough time to close a deal.

The player has a complicated ownership situation which is split between Gremio – who are negotiating a potential renewal with the 23-year-old – as well as a fund and his former club.

The player is expected to pen a new four-year deal with a release clause of €80million, however the report adds that his asking price is in fact just €45m currently.

In addition to this, Everton wants to join the Rossoneri – something which could be key in negotiations.

This season, the Brazil international has netted 12 goals and added four assists in 26 competitive games for Gremio.
