AC Milan are at work to secure one of their stars for years to come as negotiations with Chaka Traore and his entourage are on, a report claims.
Reaching the UEFA Youth League final four was a sign that the Primavera are heading in the right direction after years of struggle and it is thanks to talents like Traore that Ignazio Abate’s side were able to go so far.
His contract was set to expire in June of this year, but Calciomercato.com report that he will remain with the Rossoneri for at least another season as the option that the club had to extend his deal until 2024 has been exercised.
However, the work is far from done. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara intend to extend the expiry of the winger’s deal by a few more years, and we are moving towards an agreement that can make everyone happy. The idea is to strike a deal before the start of next season.
Why Milan dont have this option in the contract of the players from senior team!
Because if I’m not mistaken Uefa rules state that contracts can only be made for a maximum of 5 years length. So it could have something to do with that. Traore was signed in 2021, so technically he was on a 3 year contract (2 + 1).
So how does Chelsea get away with 8 year contracts?

The rule wasn’t there before. After Chelsea exploited that rule this winter, Uefa considering to put the rule starting next summer.

True. No point holding him back. I thought they will give him a shot in first team, so that would make some sense to keep him around.
Players need to play senior football to develop. Same goes to Adli – I have no clue why he is not on loan if he’s not playing ever.

Either Traore is going to get some playing minutes or he’s probably going to hold out and look to leave on a free isn’t he?
Yeah , better play Chaka than Rebic. It is time for Chaka to step up for senior team and put him as leao back up
