AC Milan are still in the race to land Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali but are currently behind city rivals Inter, it is claimed.
Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) reported immediately after the 4-2 win over Juventus on Tuesday night that Milan are back in the race for Tonali.
The 20-year-old has previously admitted that he is a fan of the Rossoneri and although Inter and Juventus seemed to be ahead in the race, negotiations have stalled for both clubs and they have lost momentum.
Furthermore, it was added that Tonali wouldn’t say no to a move to Milan this September, when the transfer window will open.
According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo on Twitter, contacts between Milan and Tonali’s agents have been ongoing for months and while Inter are ahead, the Rossoneri are trying their best to lure the teenager to the red half of the city.
🔙E quando si parlava di #Milan su #Tonali: contatti con gli agenti che vanno avanti da mesi. #Inter sempre avanti, ma i rossoneri ci provano

In a follow-up tweet – a reply to a question from a fan – he adds that Milan have the player’s approval regarding a move.
Difficile perché sono avanti. Ma il #Milan ci stava e ci sta provando. Con il gradimento del giocatore. Vedremo
