CM: Milan now ‘very close’ to signing Ajax midfielder – the latest

AC Milan have intensified their contacts over the last few hours for Silvano Vos and are now very close to welcoming him as a new arrival, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan remain in talks with the ‘super agent’ Pini Zahavi and now Vos is getting closer and closer to joining. There is already a verbal agreement between the player and the Rossoneri over personal terms.

A long-term contract is ready for the 19-year-old, more specifically a four-year contract with an option for another year or possibly a five-year contract. Now, Milan are waiting for the final green light from Ajax.

The Amsterdam club continue to ask for a figure between €9-10m to let him go, but the parties are increasingly close to finding a definitive agreement for a figure lower than the initial request. Optimism is filtering regarding the success of the negotiation.

The idea of the Rossoneri management is to make an investment in a profile with big margins for growth, who can be included immediately in Daniele Bonera’s squad for Milan Futuro, but could also be part of Paulo Fonseca’s first team too.

A deal is ‘very close to being formalised’ thanks to the great work of Zahavi, who has already communicated the player’s will to move immediately to Milan.

    1. We did get Kalulu for less than 1 million so, loaning him to Juve for what, 3.5M? And the option to buy for what, 12 or 14 more? (I don’t remember) will indeed result in a huge gain. Yes, no obligation to buy, but apparently Thiago Motta told Kalulu that he personally guarantees that Juve will exercise the option to buy at the end of the loan.

So, what’s wrong? I was against the Kalulu move but another poster here did convince me that it’s time to part ways with him. So, why not profit? It increases the budget for signings. Certainly beats the previous crew who lost several players for free.

If you haven’t noticed, RedBird has not been just cashing out. Proceeds from sales have been reinvested in new signings.

People really like to bash RedBird because they are American, but I think they are generally doing a decent job: the books have been stabilized, a new stadium is being sought, we got Milan Futuro, we kept the big names Theo, Mike and Rafa, and we signed some very good players this mercato (Fofana, Morata, Pavlovic – less sure about Emerson, and apparently now Vos, and let’s remember that we did exercise a right to buy for Jimenez this same mercato, so it’s actually 6 incoming players). That is not so bad, unlike fans keep saying.

The one purchase we missed was Zirkzee’s but actually welcome the fact that we didn’t bend to his agent’s outrageous demands; if we did, we’d be inviting numerous problems for the future. Every agent would want the same, we’d have trouble renewing contracts, and so on. Good riddance. I actually think Morata will be a lot better than Zirkzee. He was phenomenal in the 20 minutes he played. Sure, got immediately injured but it happens. Actually I think Morata is partially to blame for the injury. He apparently got injured the day before at Milanello but chose to minimize it when Fonseca asked him about it because he was eager to play for Milan, but then, aggravated his injury. Sure, not very smart from Morata but at least his resolve and eagerness to play is commendable. He terrorized Torino’s defense and changed the game (and scored). Once Morata is back he will be excellent for us; likely better than Zirkzee would have been.

      1. BC, this plan has been booked since Berlu area he passed it to the Chinese, then Elliott and finally Gerry, his plan is to sell the club for higher profit, And to arguably build more stadium, he stated it in his interview, don’t forget the 6th derbies lost in a row, the way he refused any player from Serie A just beacause of Growth Decree, we missed many good opportunities, ending up with money Ball players, RLC Musa Chukuweze, instead of investing in true DM, Fofana is a good player but not the 6 we expect, 80 millions has been spent on the midfielders and we still Lack a decent true defensive one, besides he never attend the match just 4 times per year, too busy to buy assets here and out

      2. Luigi i think you need break, about what great players you talk at Milan, exept Maignan and Theo?? I thinik you need watch some other sports.
We have only 2 good players others not great at all, maybe not bad but great hahah

        1. No Pippo, I think you should be the one to take a break on watching football and find some other sports to watch if you could only see Theo and Mike are the only good players we have in this team.
What about Pulisic and Reijinder? Can u name any midfielder that Milan used to have in the last 20 years could score bangers outside the box, dribbling 2-3 players like to scoring except Kaka, Sesdorf, and Pirlo?

          1. Agree on Pulišić but what’s so great about Reijnders? I keep hearing these praises but tell me from statistics point what’s so great? 38 games, 4 goals and 4 assists? Even Frattesi a sub player had better season than our undisputed starter. He’s a defensive liability with no end product. It’s not only about statistics? Ok, he looks good on the ball and knows how to run vertically.

        2. Wow. I don’t know if you need to go watch other sports, but you certainly do need to go root for some other club given how you hate our players. So, there are only two great players at Milan? LOL. So Leão, Pulisic, Reijnders, are not great players? You know, they play prominently for their national teams, so I’m sure you understand football better than some of professional coaches for some of the national teams, huh? Should we forget our outstanding youngsters Camarda, Liberali and Zeroli? And what about Morata, you don’t think he is a great player? By the way, he is the captain for the winning Spanish national team. You don’t think Fofana is a great player? Ask France’s national team coach. Unbelievable. You don’t deserve to root for Milan.

      1. Can you point out exactly what is racist about his comment and how?

Its not uncommon for sporting organisations to move cities.

        1. It speaks more about your character than anything else… What do you think he meant by African Milan?

          Reijnders is Dutch
          Maignan and Fofana are French
          Tomori and RLC is British
          Leao is Portugese
          Okafor is Swiss
          Thiaw is German
          Musah is American
          Zeroli is Italian

The only actual Africans are Chukwueze and Bennacer…

          1. I double-checked Bennacer plays for Algeria but was born and raised in France. Also, forgot Emerson who is Brazillian. So, where if Africa again?

        2. The fact that you don’t see anything racist about his post is quite worrying…
Also Silvano Vos is Dutch and born in Netherlands, so the poster above pretty much made this anti-african comment because of a Dutch player.

  1. what’s the problem Giga94@? people can’t ask about more Italian players in AC Milan? Milan is still formally Italian club. but its seems for that the Red Birds company would like to change this. how many Italians play in first squad?

    1. Wake up people, globalisation has happened, the only thing Italian about AC Milan is that is it geographically based in Italy, why should we prefer players who are Italian, I prefer those that have more quality

  2. So tired of people complaining about this transfer because he is not italian, someone should remind them that 90% of Milan futuro is italian. Milan is a footbal club and they should bring good players regardless of their nationality, I never saw Real, Barca, Atletico or big clubs fans from premier league complaining about nationality of their players . Club and national team are 2 different things, get over it and move on.

    1. because their boys plays in academies, reserves or second team. looks for Lamine Yamal. he is from imigrant family, but behaved in local community.
      .
and Milan? they want kick off Pobega recently. who knows may be Gabbia and Calabria will be next.

      1. It would be the only explication … I want to see italian players too playing for Milan but good player not Pobega or Calabria. Maybe in the future Zeroli, Camarda and Liberali will play for the first team. Honestly I would have tried to bring Belanova instead of Emerson but because he is italian is because I think he is better than Calabria, anyway time will tell.

    1. that is argument? don’t be silly. you talk about national team which won 4 times world cup.
      .
if Italian stop play for their best clubs so situation with national team will be even worse. look for Inter, they looked as AC Milan of Berlusconi era. and they beat AC Milan easily. they beat us every derby, because these foreigner players don’t engage enough, they don’t feel climate of derby. for them is the same game as usual. and after that only ashame every year and ashame.

    2. In the past 12 months, European Champions at U17 & U19 level and in those 8 years, Italy won the Euros. Something England, with far more talent, haven’t managed.

  3. Haha great buy some Ibra player from Ajax and we have our midfilders. I think this year i will not watch too much Milan, just look at resultats. I dont want get heart attack for this clowns who lead my club.

    1. Pippo please support this modern cardinale milan, full of foreign.

You will excited with genius innovator coach like mr zorro fonseca. His idea is great, play like spain national team. Make salad as left full back. End the others innovator ideas will come.

  4. Yeah, the problem is they don’t give a f**k even for the registration rule, passing on Chiesa for just 15millions he is way better than Chuku and Saele

    1. Chiesa is better than Salamaeker at the moment and Thiago Motta wants Salamaeker in his team instead of Chiesa?
Based on football knowledges and understanding on the player, I don’t think you know better than Juve and Milan managements. I guess you are one of fans who think they know better than professionals by just watching the games from TV and playing FIFA. Don’t make me laugh Bro!

      1. They are kicking Chiesa out because he has one year left on his contract and is asking for 7 million not because he is a bad player! I would swap chuku for Chiesa any second. Saelemakers I would only keep him because he is our only defensive winger.

    1. Talk about quality and Italians being sub par, Frattesi a bench player had statistically better season than our undisputed starter Reijnders.

  5. I still find it difficult to understand why Ajax is selling vos? Any ways, huge advantage for Milan to sign him now ,he seems very strong at his age…
