CM: Milan want to pull off a ‘Kalulu style’ deal for Lyon’s Caqueret

AC Milan want to execute a deal for Lyon midfielder Maxence Caqueret that is similar to how they signed Pierre Kalulu, according to a report.

An article for Calciomercato.com discusses the fact that the Rossoneri’s transfer strategy and style will not change drastically under the new ownership of Investcorp.

The only primary difference is that there will be more money available. Milan signed Kalulu in the summer of 2020 when he had not even made a first-team appearance for Lyon.

He is now a key part of Stefano Pioli’s squad and has become a regular starter alongside Fikayo Tomori in central defence.

Technical Director Paolo Maldini and his team intend to head back to Lyon this summer to sign Caqueret, a French 22-year-old midfielder.

His contract with Lyon is expiring in June 2023 and he could be available for a low fee this summer to replace Tiemoue Bakayoko in the Rossoneri squad.
