CM: Milan want to sign two midfielders this summer – six targets revealed

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie will be the starters in midfield for Milan next season, with the Rossoneri hoping that the former can stay fit. However, with the AFCON scheduled for early 2022, alternatives will be needed.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Sandro Tonali will obviously be the first alternative to the duo. An additional two players will be needed, though, given that Milan are back in the Champions League and will need a squad with depth.

Jerdy Schouten is appreciated by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, having impressed with Bologna this past season. He would cost around €15m and Atalanta are also interested. Another Bologna player on the wish list is Mattias Svanberg.

The Rossoneri are also monitoring the situation of Razvan Marin, but Cagliari’s demands are seemingly too high. In Ligue 1, the Rossoneri’s scouts have highlighted Youssouf Fofana of Monaco and Mahdi Camara of Saint-Etienne.

Another hypothesis is to keep Tommaso Pobega, who has just returned from an impressive loan spell at Spezia. However, several clubs are interested in having him for next season.
