CM: Milan one of many teams watching Lecce forward after bright Serie A start

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are keeping a close eye on Lecce forward Nikola Krstovic who has made a very strong start to life in Serie A with the Giallorossi, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Krstovic has attracted early attention from some of the biggest clubs in Serie A.

Inter were watching him with Piero Ausilio when Lecce were away at Monza, whilst Milan sent someone to watch the match against Salernitana last weekend.

Krstovic only joined Lecce in the 2023 summer transfer window and the 23-year-old cost them €3.8m from Dunajska Streda who play in Slovakia.

Krstovic has scored three times in four Serie A games this season and having beaten Genoa on Friday night, Lecce have risen to second in Serie A after five matches, although many teams around them have a game in hand.

He scored 37 goals in 66 games at his previous club before Lecce secured his services.

I sincerely hope the management have the plan and timeline to incorporate Camarda, who is more and more likely to be looking like a generational talent.

Currently for the future, we have in our books:
      Jovic (25)
      Okafor (23)
      Colombo (21)
      Nasti (20)
      Lazetic (19)
      Camarda (15)

Considering Camarda has always been fast-tracked for every age group he’s under, I suspect that he would be given a debut before he hits 16 – hence breaking Maldini’s record for youngest appearance in the process – to show some faith. Getting some garbage time at 17, then he would probably be more involved in the first team as he hits 18 and finally be getting a lot more minutes as sub at 19 and then a starter at 20?

So what’s the plan then? Are we going to buy experienced head to guide and took him under the wing, or do we just buy the flavour of the week player like (with all due respect) Piatek and Krstovic? Making the wrong move would probably make him ponder about being Haaland’s understudy, who would probably left to Madrid/Barca himself in 4-5years time. Remember we also have a lot of young strikers in front of him, and quite possibly all of these would have to be sacrificed.

Having said that, hopefully he continues to live up to the hype and be very fortunate with potential injuries.
