CM: Milan working on signing of €40m Arsenal man and aim to lower price

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan seem ready to enter the race to sign Folarin Balogun from Arsenal having learned how much it would take to sign him, a report claims.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, Milan are working on a number of different profiles for the attack and one of them is Balogun, who is now back with Arsenal after his loan spell at Stade de Reims.

The management admire the player a lot and believe he could become the centre-forward of the future, but the obstacle is the cost of the transfer fee which is around €40m.

If the Rossoneri were to focus on the USA international moreso than other targets then they will try to lower the Gunners’ requests. At the moment it’s a ‘difficult operation’ as per the report.

Balogun netted 22 goals on loan last season which has drawn admiration from all over Europe, but whether Arsenal will be able to get a high fee after one prolific campaign remains to be seen.

    1. Yeah it would be great signals to recruit both these guys! They obviously want some USA players but as long as they’re relevant like Balogun it’s a win-win situation for both the management and the fans, let’s do it!

        1. I didn’t heard about him before Gigi mentioned him but I liked the idea. Then SM published a news about Milan being interested in Barcola. Either Gigi is writing for Calciomercato or he has prescient abilities haha

  1. I don’t understand why Arsenal are selling him if they believe he is the next “big thing”! After all, he is a very young player and it would be difficult to expect much from him already in the first season. If we also count on the current competition for his signature, the price will be quite high. I think we have a chance only with possible money from the sale of CDK.

    1. They don’t believe he’s the next big thing. They prefer Nketiah, who scored FOUR goals last season! They have no faith in Balogun. To me that’s a big warning sign.

  2. Yea sign him. Precludes Chukewzue but what can we do. Only one EU spot left. Balgoun, Isaksen, Reinjders, Musah and Singo and a backup LB. Make it happen Georgio!

  3. if Milan really want him, why not spread the fee for 2 years in a 20M each? other clubs seem can do that kinda transfer..
