CM: Milan’s list of Thuram alternatives from Scamacca to Balogun

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan thought they had sealed the signing of Marcus Thuram but Inter swooped in to get him at the last moment, leaving the management having to change their plans.

Calciomercato.com writes how Milan had offered Thuram a five-year deal worth €4.5m net per season and were optimistic they would close the deal, but then Inter offered more and he will join them, so the Rossoneri have to return to the striker market.

Alvaro Morata: The Spaniard is not considered non-transferable, given that his contract expires in 2024 (he could soon renew until 2026), but his salary of more than €5m and the offers from Saudi Arabia do not make him a cheap deal.

He would like to stay in Europe and would like to return to Italy, also because his wife Alice is Italian, so a solution is being sought.

Gianluca Scamacca: On the other hand, Scamacca could leave West Ham on loan as David Moyes does not consider him a central part of the plans currently and a return to Italy could revitalise him. Roma are the player’s priority at the moment though.

Noah Okafor: Milan have held new talks over a deal for Okafor but it would be an expensive operation, though he would fit the bill in terms of being a player who offers quality, quantity and flexibility.

Others: It could be that the new number nine for the future comes from Ligue 1, with Folarin Balogun and Thijs Dallinga from Lille and Toulouse two interesting names.

  1. I haven’t seen much traction and news for balogun and eagerness from clubs to purchase him, so imo if I were Milan I would submit an offer of 30M. Arsenal clearly don’t have the leverage as his contract expires next year and as long as there’s no bidding war that or Scamacca are our only logical options

    1. I never liked him either and always thought he was overated and over paid so i cant really support that aquisition either

  2. I we wasted so much time on thuram and now we’re interested in Morata and lukaku? Don’t make me sick… Go for scamacca or someone similar because this is starting to get out of hand

  3. Any serious transfer for them is too expensive operation ?! We made it to the semifinals of C.L. and made quite a sum of money. Plus this sale of Tonali for 70 million. So, how much do they even think to set aside to reinforce the team? Apparently, they’re just targeting free agents and those no one has heard of, and who they have no competition for possible engagement. It may be too early for a more serious conclusion, but for now it all seems very discouraging .

  4. Milan’s transfer window up until know is this gif.
