CM: Milan’s stance is clear on future of struggling €28m signing amid talk of possible exit

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have clear ideas regarding the future of forward Rafael Leao despite a disappointing first season so far at the club, a report claims.

Milan signed Rafael Leao from Lille last summer for a fee of widely reported to be €28m, however he has struggled to find form and has spent a lot of time on the bench. He has made 22 appearances for Milan thus far, racking up two goals and two assists in the process, but only ten of them have been starts.

It was actually recently reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Leao has been identified as a ‘problem’ that Milan have with their attack, which is the club’s worst in 33 years.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, a first season below expectations has not changed Milan’s ideas about Leao.

Despite some speculation in the media that a departure could be considered in order for him to get more consistent game time – most likely on loan – the Rossoneri leadership instead have full confidence in the Portugal starlet and will stick with him into next season.
