CM: Milan’s stance on €30m Arsenal star revealed as Napoli ready bid

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan do not consider Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira a priority at the moment with Napoli set to make a move, a report claims.

The Rossoneri were heavily linked with a move for Torreira over the summer amid reports from Gianluca Di Marzio stating that the Uruguay international would be open to a return to Italy.

Rumours started again last month, with TMW reported that the 23-year-old is ‘unhappy’ Arsenal currently as he is being played out of position, with Milan interested again.

The same outlet (via MilanNews.it) then claimed on Monday that Torreira is becoming ‘more and more convinced’ by the idea of leaving north London in January, while his agent also refused to rule out a possible return to Serie A for his client.

According to the latest updates from Calciomercato.com, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made Torreira a target for the upcoming window.

Both chief scout Maurizio Micheli to sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli are in agreement that he would add a lot to their squad, and at Arsenal he is not experiencing an easy season.

The report adds that Napoli face competition from Atletico Madrid but not from Milan, who don’t consider him to be a priority at the moment despite previous links.

Torreira moved to Arsenal last summer from Sampdoria, with the Gunners having activated his €30m release clause, as per Wikipedia.
