CM: Milan’s strategy confirmed as agent meets with Benfica over €40m starlet

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the upcoming season, Milan will be looking to add another midfielder to their squad, seeing as Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie were forced to play a lot without rest this past season.

According to Calciomercato.com, Florentino Luis is still an option for the Rossoneri, who have been linked with the player since January. In fact, there could be concrete developments in the negotiations from September, when the window will open.

Yesterday, there was an important meeting with Florentino’s agent and Benfica manager Jorge Jesus. The latter expressed a desire to focus on the 20-year-old, though it was also stated that any potential offers will be evaluated.

In addition to Milan, per the report, the newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds are also interested, just like Real Betis and Sevilla. Contacts between the Rossoneri and Florentino’s entourage have been going on for several months now.

The offer remains a two-year loan with an obligation to buy, but for the time being, Benfica aren’t willing to part ways with the youngster. Furthermore, they value him at no less than €40m.

In the meantime, Milan are working on the track that leads to Bakayoko’s return, willing to wait and see if September can provide some clarity on Florentino.

  1. ACM should hurry up and sign Florentino Luis or the Hungarian midfielder and forget about Babyoko if they are serious about doing better than well next season!
