CM: Milan enter ‘last days of negotiations’ as Bayern Munich abandon Zirkzee race

By Isak Möller -

Bayern Munich have decided not to move forward with their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee, despite the favourable clause, and this has paved the way for AC Milan, In fact, according to a report, these could be the last days of negotiations.

Milan have been following Zirkzee since the end of last year and in recent weeks, they accelerated their pursuit of the player. Indeed, they are ready to pay the €40m clause to Bologna and the player is keen on joining, according to Calciomercato.com.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic played an important role in convincing the Dutchman, but now Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada must convince the agent Kia Joorabchian to reduce his commission request. A new meeting is planned in London and these could be ‘the last days of negotiations’.

As the report concludes, Milan have been aided by the fact that Bayern Munich have pulled out of the race, failing to envision a partnership between Zirkzee and Harry Kane. The Germans were the last-standing competitors in the race thanks to their favourable percentage clause, but now that obstacle is out of the way.

More updates should arrive in the coming days, perhaps even in the coming hours, and we will keep you posted on the developments as always.

  1. I have a bad feeling about the commission.

I’m also still reluctant about him… 12 goals… I mean… I could be wrong. If he comes, I will absolutely support him.

    1. His numbers def aren’t impressive but his movement and technical skills are. I’m imagining those numbers being much higher with Leao and Puli around him.

    2. Numbers are everything. When we signed Piatek everyone was super happy due to the amount of goals scored in the first half of the season. But if you studied how he played every game and what kind of goals he scored we can all agree most of them where lucky.
He had 2-4 games where he scored multiple goals per game, but those goals came from penalties, balls given in the dangerous zones from the opposition players, deflects, etc. He had games without scoring… and even when he did scored he was mostly lucky… he scored mainly mainly against small teams.

On the other side if you look at Zirke and can notice that 11 goals are quality strikes apart from one that you can debate as being lucky. Apart from that he did enhance everyone around him. Maybe in a better team he will score more, but if he continue to enhance others performance as well it will be a great addition to the team. Both Puli and Leao will benefit from this. If we wanna perform better we need to perform better was a team, and this is exactly what he is bringing

      1. @George

Did you mean numbers *Aren’t* everything? If so then yeah I agree with your post, Zirkzee has quality that could drive our team forward, not just goals.

      2. Zirkzee is in his third full season at a pro. Zirkzee has showed steady progression since turning pro. That’s nothing like Piatek. There’s no comparison between the two players. Stop repeating lazy crap made by ‘fans’ who don’t do their homework.

    3. That commission is gonna be reduced. And I had the same worries as you about his goalscoring, but after looking into it, he actually overperformed on his xG, so I’m not as worried anymore.
