CM: Jovic destined for exit as Moncada evaluates Jonathan David alternative

By Oliver Fisher -

Geoffrey Moncada has been traveling around Europe over the past few weeks looking to try and find the striker who should lead the line for AC Milan in the future, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Luka Jovic is destined to say goodbye at the end of the season given that he has not yet made a contribution, while Olivier Giroud is on an expiring deal and even if he were to renew he will turn 38 next season.

This is why the discussion regarding a new striker is becoming more and more of a priority at Milan and if there is the possibility of bringing the signing forward to January then it will certainly be explored.

Jonathan David remains ‘on the top step of the podium’ in terms of targets, but Moncada has been observing Montpellier matches where Akor Adams – the 23-year-old Nigerian striker – continues to impress.

The French club spent €4m during the summer to snatch him from Lillestroem and with seven goals in 11 games to his name, they are sensing the chance to make a big profit.

Adams is very strong physically and in the air, with speed one of his strong points despite being 190cm tall. Milan will follow him consistently in the coming weeks and will evaluate whether to start negotiations with Montpellier.

  1. Bringing another striker will not solve the problem, but will only burn that player. If Milan cannot bring the best out of Jovic who is player with multiple skills but needs somebody to pass the ball, than Milan does not deserve him.
Do not forget that he joined on the free transfer, so go ahead and continue to waste money.

  2. I don’t understand why our management is so obsessed by a striker w barely scored this season and who is mostly a penalty scorer.
We need someone who can score from an open play, from corners and from freekicks, not a penalty shooter.

  3. David is a quality striker. He was one of the main contributors to the Canadian team making it to their first world cup since 1986. He has strength, pace, and good finishing from play, air and the spot.

Plus he’s from LIlle, who have a great track record of developing quality players and selling them on.
