CM: Mourinho comes calling – Fenerbahce a possible option for Milan striker

By Oliver Fisher -

Luka Jovic’s future at AC Milan has come into question after the signing of Alvaro Morata and the rumours of another striker arriving, and a future in Turkey could await.

A report from Calciomercato.com write that José Mourinho is continuing to design his Fenerbahce side, which obviously includes some transfer business. The Special One has brought ‘a breath of fresh air and enthusiasm’ to the Turkish club, and he has presented ideas to the management.

For example, Mourinho has not given up on looking for another striker to pair with the experienced duo of Cenk Tosun and Edin Dzeko. For this reason, the Portuguese has started to look around, in case Youssef En-Nesyri does not arrive, Jovic has emerged as an idea.

There have only been exploratory surveys with the Serbian’s entourage at the moment and nothing advanced between the two clubs, but the source reiterates that Jovic is not certain of staying at Milan despite his one-year renewal.

This is a scenario also confirmed by the search by the Rossoneri management for a new striker like Niclas Fullkrug and Tammy Abraham. Zenit St. Petersburg and some clubs in the Saudi Pro League have already made moves for the ex-Fiorentina player.

  1. Jovic was actually good last year playing as a super sub in many cases.

Fullkrug in all his BundesLiga career didn’t even get near what Jovic did with Frankfurt in two seasons.

Where is that 100 million that Cardinal announced he is investing in the market this year ?
This summer has been full of RedBird 💩 and I really hope that Milan fails so bad that San Siro kicks this 🤡 management out of Milan and back to some Texas ranch next to cows and pigs where they belong

    1. I Agree, they are slow and don’t want to buy a player for more than 15-20m €. And in few case it is a shame, because if is true they offer for Fofana 15m and Monaco want 20m … it is minimum distace …But still mercato is open for another 4-5 weeks and maybe their waiting game will bring good players.. Like last year, it’s too early to evaluate summer mercato

      1. You’re crying about this but even Liverpool are turning up their noses at these price tags. They let Leny Toro leave for Manchester United rather than signing him for €50m. No sane club is going to sign players for these ridiculous prices, the only ones you’ll see are Chelsea and Manchester United which just waste talent. I’d rather have the club healthy than for it to become a joke like Manchester United. We were there before spending all that money under Yonghong Li and Berlusconi’s final years and that’s one of the reasons we nearly went bankrupt and down to Serie D like Chievo, Parma, Fiorentina and Napoli. No thank you. You’re supporting the wrong club if you want to see a spending spree. I’d say go support PSG but they don’t have a 7 on their arm do they. Glory hunters, aren’t welcome here or in our city.

        1. Fabri go celebrate for profit because you and your cardinale are here for profit we are not Genoa we are ac milan we are not in crisis this is not how to run an elite club like ac milan this beggars should go away from ac milan

          1. We are NOT in crisis precisely because the Americans came and cleaned everything up and ran things responsibly. And will continue to do it, whether you agree with them or not…

“WE are AC Milan” – is this what you were screaming during the banter era???

        2. There’s a difference in spending and overspending. 50 millions for Yoro is in any way excessive, 18 to 20 millions for Fofana is reasonable considering market prices nowadays.

Also, since when do we cheer for balance sheets and corporate finances and stopped cheering our team? Because all I see on this blog is about finances nowadays. We’re suppose to be football fans and not recreational accountants.

          1. Ted,

This Milan will continue to conduct business the only way they see fit, for better or worse. Despite any of our approvals/disapprovals.

If you start yelling “balance sheets” and “profits” any time you don’t like what they are doing or don’t understand it, then it’s up to you. You have that comfort.

We are Milan and I hope we continue on our path of strength and sustainability so we never see another banter era because management decided to buy a series of 60mil players to appease the fans.

If anything, fans don’t really know what’s good or what’s bad. Or who’s worth it and who isn’t. That’s why we are fans. We don’t really know sh|t – we just come here, stick our chests out and huff and puff. All of us.

            Just support the team.

This goes to everyone here really…

          2. @ACM1899 said “just support the team”

I read that as not only the players but the organization that delivers them to the pitch on match day ready to win.

Winning is bigger than just the players on the field.

        3. Milan just start their big plan first they have Milan futuro to make their youth to get more experience and grow and they will build the team from the youth, and the second thing they want to build their own stadium🏟, to get profit from ticket sale… Forza Milan

      2. I am not that optimistic.
Maldini was heavily criticized for the exact same thing this management is doing with one main exception which is avoiding a deal similar to CDK when Maldini got bold and paid over 25 million for a player which ended up costing him his job.

So now instead of paying for a good striker and keeping Jovic as a super sub that cost 3.2 million salary we will pay about 25 millions for two mediocre 31 strikers with over 5 million salary each.

Amd there is no 100 million transfer budget. It will be like last year, sell to fund buying new players.

        1. ” two mediocre 31 strikers”

One just captained Spain to European champs without losing and the other kept Germany in the competition as long as he could. Mediocre? How many goals did the phenomenal Zirkzee, CR7, Sesko etc score? Oh right… 😀 😀 😀

    2. Is it the problem of ownership or management? Gerry is not out there signing players… That’s on Furlani/Moncada/Ibra and co. All indications are the budget is there, unless there’s something behind the scenes we don’t know about. These guys seem to care more about getting a good deal than getting good players….

    3. Racist cretin. Did you forget the €100 million spent last season? And the money invested in the new stadium and Futuro? You’re not Milan supporter.

      1. You idiot 🐖, what 100 million last summer, did you forget Tonali’s sale.

RedBird have never invested more than 100 million combined so far.
They sell to buy and that’s why Maldini lost hos job after daring to pay over 30 million for CDK.

        1. The same people who complained about Tonali being sold cried when Donarumma, Kessie and Hakan left for nothing. Man City have sold over €300 million worth of players in the past 4 years. Redbird reinvested the money into the squad. They also invested €20 million just to clean the area for the new stadium, which has been approved, and over €20 million in Futuro so what are you complaining for?

          1. Milan got 120m from champions league, there was no need of selling an important player.

65m from tonali sale is what they make it up 100m in mercato but not from the balances.

If you see how much we gain and how much we spent it’s very minimal.

Even this year it’s going to be same 22m from CDK we spent nothing and 20m for Fofana is too much for this management ha ha ha

        2. “RedBird have never invested more than 100 million combined so far.”

Invested? Like the arabs do with PSG & ManCity? LOL. The Milan owners can’t do that.

Milan has a budget and to increase the transfer funds they need to sell. Just like 99% of other clubs out there. They can only buy so little with the other incomes such as match revenues or haven’t you notice that Milan made a profit of few million euros… That won’t allow to spend 100M€ on the market without careful planning and possibly sales.

        3. I’m US so rage at me. Call me names. Imply I am less than human.

There is no reason for you to call someone an idiot if you want.to be taken seriously.

You are among supporters of the club here and wrote that you hope the club we all support “fails”.

Even @InterFan displays more respect and civility for this community than you are at this time.

Please consider if your goal is to express support our club or simply to troll.

Personally I hope we all simply ignore you at this point as my hope is you will take your ill wishes for ACM and your insults of my fellow supporters with you.

    4. Or you can go support other team rather than hoping ACM fail so bad . Why stay on this club if you only get hurt on heart and hoping them fail? No matter what your hope or pray , they wont get relegated or get bankrupt. Nobody want to buy italian club except investment fund or chinese businessman, what do you expect ?? Arab kingdom oil come to buy ACM and you can celebrate expensive player like PSG fans ??? Keep dreaming until you wake up

    5. “…really hope that Milan fails so bad that San Siro kicks this 🤡 management out of Milan”

just about sums you up? Now run along and play with your toys, child. The adults are talking.

        1. You’re right. With your grown-up mentality you should be in a thread with like-minded individuals, not here playing around 😉

    6. How can they kick the owner of the club out lol

And we will leave San Siro in 5 years anyway, when our new stadium is out, so no need to kick us out. We will leave ourself 😅 go live there forever if you want 😂

  2. If we’d be chasing David I’d understand but going after fullkrug and morate when you have Jovic and Okafor…

We are being run by fools listening to even bigger fools.

    1. Have you watched any of last season? Maybe do that and understand what you are looking at before calling anyone a fool (unless you’re looking at a mirror)?

  3. Jovic isn’t up to standard, he couldn’t even tie the boots of some of our banter era strikers. Luis Adriano and Carlos Bacca both make him look like Luigi Beghetto. He’s just a Serbian Massimo Maccarone.

    1. Yeah, then Morata and Fullkrug are beating your standards left and right, aren’t they ?

The whole point here is, why paying over 25 million and over 9 million in salaries per year for two strikers that never scored more than 15 goals per season and are not that better than Jovic that costs 3 million per year.
Just get one reliable striker with Jovic, don’t turn Milan into other clubs garbage disposal.

      1. Giving you the benefit of the doubt,
        Let’s assume M and F each score 10 and not 15.

        10 + 10 = 20 goals (replaces Giroud and a bit more)

2 players v. 1 player means if someone is hurt or tired there is no drop off.

31 yrs old each – brings leadership and experience to a team that just lost quite a bit of it.

Captn of Spain who won the Euros. More to the leadership thing again.

It’s as if you care more about how much is spent than what the squad needs to be successful over a 50+ game season.

I’m annoyed by the Fofana approach too, but I’m not checking my toys out of the pram.

What does your team look like when we have injuries and 6 games in 14 days?

  4. Jovic must to stay. we can’t be losers and sell great player for peanuts and after that spend for another striker15 or 20 millions on similar level.
