CM: Origi remains an issue despite Milan’s free transfer openness – the details

AC Milan are struggling to find accommodation for Divock Origi despite the fact that they are open to letting him leave on a free transfer, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are doing everything they can to try to facilitate the departure of Origi, who at present is under contract until 2026 and is earning a yearly salary of €4m net.

On August 19, they communicated to the striker’s agents that they would let him go on a free transfer. This should not be confused with a mutual contract termination, because Milan simply want to free themselves of a big contract and will not as it stands be paying up front to end it early.

It has been a strange couple of years for Origi, who has gone from being a Liverpool legend to someone who cannot find a new club. A couple of proposals from Turkey have not been taken into consideration by the Belgian, who continues to train alone in agreement with Milan.

Milan hope that Origi finds a team before the window closes because the termination of the contract could become difficult. There have been expressions of interest from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where the deadlines are different, but time is passing without a solution.

    1. But don’t you know that Maldini is infallible and never made a wrong move. It must be that Pioli or the evil American owners just never gave him a chance.

    2. To be fair there was an article at some point where it was made clear that Massara was the one what was the most in favor of signing him even though they also made decisions together. There was also a later article where Pioli said that they always took decisions in between him and the management so if anything all are to be blamed.
Same goes for the current management maybe minus Fonseca so basically the same setup but different people.

    3. Actually, he was Massara’s signing. He was convinced that he’s the best option for free forward (they were also considering Lacazette)

    4. Good think we got rid of him, such hard times to win a Scudetto, going to UCL semifinals and see the players smiling and motivated. Last year was definitely more enjoyable, getting humiliated by Inter in Serie A and in European competitions, and this season is bringing so much excitement already.

      1. All these maldini haters here. At least he built a better squad from nothing than these fools that we have now. Eventhough, these clowns have more money to spend than maldini. And yes, we’ll have 6 origis next summer since everyone is out on loan.

    5. true they never did and still when he got it, in the last loan to epl he blew it up. that is not pioli nor the management fault on that one.

that bruh should have retired the same year milan coop him.

i see a lot of players i will send into retirement early in milan if i was a fifa president.

i would have retire the following players in milan

      Calabria
      Leao
      Tomori
      Thaiw
      RLc
      Jovic
the list keep going then how many players will be left. this is why the milan team is still far from some elite clubs in europe.

    6. Stfu, all of you were hyping “sign him sign him” at that time,he is golden sub in liverpool sign himmmm and now you are all being smartass

  1. The responsibility is shared among Massara, Maldini and Pioli. When you just go “Maldini, Maldini, Maldini” without even knowing the story behind it all you indirectly call yourself stupid.

    1. Right, Maldini did all of the good signings , and the bad ones which there were many were other people’s fault. Got it. I knew he was infallible. Didn’t Maldini turn water into wine or was that someone else? No, that was Maldini too.

      1. Nobody is saying he is or was infallible but you are clearly disregarding actual facts because you want to point fingers at him or act dramatic so it doesn’t really leaves you with much credibility on this matter.

As said by Moshi and I further up it was joint decisions which was made clear by Pioli in an interview + another previous article.
Simple facts whether you like it or not.

        1. Was it Pioli’s decision to let Kessie, Calhanoglu and Donnarumma leave for free. I’m sure he was a big fan of seeing his best players leave and not be replaced. How can we blame Pioli for that as well. I’m sure you’ll find away.

          1. You can replace those players if you don’t let them leave for free tho. That’s why you don’t let players go into the final year of the contract without a new deal. You make them an offer and if they don’t agree, you sell them so you can afford to replace them. This is something Maldini did not understand and it’s why they were not able to replace Kessie or Calhanoglu.
But now we are blaming Elliott, who brought this club back from mediocrity and massive debt to bring them their first Scudetto in 10 years. It’s amazing how the blame always shifts so that nothing is ever Maldini’s fault.

  2. No but that wasn’t really what was spoken about as I also said that he wasn’t infallible but again you disregard simple facts here as the management had bigger limitations in regard of the wages and we actually did win a scudetto with kessie and to a lesser extent Romagnoli. Romagnoli was also the most expenssive player at over 6 mil pr year due to the mirabelli era giving him an insane salary that increased over the years. Who would pay such salary to him if you suggest we should have sold him ? non. Add to that there was an interview with Lazios president where he told that he pretty much had courted him to join them when his contract would expire. Calhanouglo also demanded a salary that wasnt within the parametres set for the management so what do you actually expect them to do ?
You are all about accusations on this matter but not much substance there and I’m pretty sure you actually do realize it yourself deep within.

    1. With two years left on his contract, if you can’t agree on terms, sell. If you don’t sell, you can’t pay high wages…unless you are one of the 10 big revenue clubs.

      1. You can blame those greedy players.. they had promise.. Clearly & Openly.. and they betrayed.. simple.. Maldini not perfect, but he do all for AC Milan.. he also keep hes faith on Milan players, treating them as human rather than stock market.

      2. Still doesn’t change the fact that you cant sell players that doesnt want to be sold or doesn’t have a market to be sold.

      3. Maldini took the role when they were in these situations and the goal at this time was to reach Champions league spot. How can you sell your best players just for money without looking after the season. After all he is working with limitations by the management. Haven’t you seen why he was removed and the way he was remove because he speak against it.

You can say lot of Bullsh*t but the fact is he brought back Milan to good level with all the limitation and this americans understand nothing about football. They are playing football like Playstation bringing 10players each season.

hardly we have paid 1year salary to Origi until now, everyone act like he is taking salary for free for 5years.

Whatever you can say about Maldini, There is no cup in history of Milan without Maldini name on it atleast 90% of it.

Theo/Mike have less than 2years contract now, Calabria less than a year, You remeber the bad past and you are not living the present ha ha ha ha

    2. No @K

As you are seeing more and more players are refusing to leave in the last year of their deal as they want to chose their next team. Most players also don’t care if their former club make money off them or not. The game has changed. Many profess their love for their former club – like Donnaruma or Kessie but in the end they didn’t care. That’s fine. It is what it is. Some will move others will not. But we are seeing it more and more – look at M’Bappe.

So stop creating a false reality to fit your narrow minded narrative because you somehow hate Maldini. Grow up kid

  3. If you leave him out of team with that much sallary he will never go,i would make special training program for those and gattusso would be the chef of that program, they would run away ,right now he is doing nothing, watching TV and refusing offers
