Paolo Maldini’s first job, should he accept a role as technical director, will reportedly be to resolve the future of Suso.
While it is not yet official, Maldini will most likely be the man to replace Leonardo, who departed last week following failure to qualify for the Champions League.
According to Calciomercato.com, the first issue that the former Rossoneri No.3 will have to work out is the future of a key offensive player in Suso.
The Spaniard has a contract valid till 2022, but Milan would like to remove his €38million release clause, and Maldini will start working on that as soon as possible.
While Suso did not have an excellent second half of the season, his first half was magnificent and should he find his consistency a world class player will be in the making.
Possible solutions including making the release clause higher or removing it completely, but with that would likely come the demand of a pay rise.
