CM: Parma pushing hard to sign AC Milan youngster – the Rossoneri’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

Parma are pushing to sign defender Matteo Gabbia from AC Milan in the final days of the transfer window, according to a report.

Despite the fact the Rossoneri made a conscious decision to keep Gabbia beyond the summer window to help him play and develop with the senior side, he has played just eight competitive minutes all season.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, there was a meeting between Gabbia’s agent Tullio Tinti and Parma’s sporting director Daniele Faggiano on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of a January move.

The Emilian club want to sign him on a loan with option to buy, but Milan  believe in Gabbia’s potential and want to retain ownership – especially considering that there is not much defensive depth available to Stefano Pioli currently.

The report does add though that new contacts between the parties are expected today, and it may be that Milan loosen their stance regarding a loan if they can sign another defender.
