CM: Pioli asks Milan to give Bonaventura a new deal as key duo close in on renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura is hoping to receive a renewal offer from the club before his current deal runs out, a report claims.

It seemed as though the 31-year-old midfielder was all set to leave Milan after over half a decade at the club, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and seemingly now chance of a renewal.

However, according to Calciomercato.com Milan’s ownership are happy with the contribution offered by Jack since the resumption of Serie A and recognises his importance inside the dressing room too.

The player is hoping to receive an offer from Milan, but the stumbling block at the moment is purely economic as his agent Mino Raiola would like €3million net per season for his client, taking advantage of the interest from Atalanta, Roma and Torino. Milan are reflecting, but Pioli wants him to stay.

Meanwhile, the report adds that the Rossoneri have every intention of making an significant economic effort to keep both Gianluigi Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the squad.

During the meeting in Montecarlo this weekend, the desire to continue was reiterated as both players are happy to remain. Paolo Maldini will soon have a direct meeting with Raiola.

For Donnarumma we are moving towards a renewal until 2023 with the possible insertion of a release clause, while for Ibrahimovic, Milan intends to try and keep him for €4m for next season.
