CM: Pioli’s dismissal announcement imminent with severance agreement reached

By Euan Burns -

Stefano Pioli’s dismissal from his role as AC Milan coach is expected to be made very soon after a severance deal was reached between the two parties.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the announcement of Pioli’s departure could come any time between Thursday and the match against Salernitana on Saturday evening.

That is Milan’s final game of the season and by announcing it before the game, Pioli gets a chance to have a proper farewell in front of the fans at San Siro. Whilst much of the fanbase agrees that it is time for a new coach, there is no reason to think Pioli will not get a positive reception.

He has one year left on his contract that sees him earn €4m per season so the club needed to find a severance agreement with Pioli, which appears not to have been too difficult.

The press release could arrive on Friday, May 24, shortly before his press conference before the weekend’s clash.

Once the match has taken place, Pioli can look for a new job. He is one of the leading candidates for the Napoli job, whilst Bologna may also bring him back to replace Thiago Motta. Fenerbahce have also expressed interest.

  1. Fenerbahce would be a good destination for him where he would reunite with lord Krunic and save at the same time save the Milan of having him back from loan. Lol

    1. There is no “having him back from loan.” The loan was with an OBLIGATION to buy, the only condition being that Fenerbahçe wouldn’t be relegated, and they weren’t. They threatened to leave the league which would vacate the condition but that was just an empty threat. Krunic will never go back to Milan; stop worrying about nothing.

  2. Krunic is the last name we need to worry about at the moment. I would not mention Pioli’s name ever again after he leaves.

  3. If you think next coach is going to be better….. we should all think twice…

Pioli won scudetto with players that was mostly unknown that season. American owner did proved that with lower salaries club can operate and compete on high level.

After that season Pioli started to have big problems with injuries what make shift in Milan success. But still he managed to reach last 4 in Champions League, and reach second spot in Serie A this season, with team who change a lot…
Juventus and Inter still spend much more than Milan and I think Roma as well.
So, will new coach resolve all problems in Serie A ? I guess not so..but let us see..

  4. I’m sorry about this, but Milan as a squad continues to suffer from gross organizational mismanagement. They change coaches and players without giving them time and support to adjust.

The main difficulty remained that the important players failed to rise to the occasion and no coach could have fixed that !!!

    Bravo Pioli despite the challenges.

    A.
