CM: Pioli has big faith in teenage defender – talks on over first professional deal

There was a very memorable moment for Davide Bartesaghi on Saturday against Hellas Verona as he made his Serie A debut for AC Milan, the team he grew up supporting.

Calciomercato.com recall that it was in the 74th minute of the game against Verona in which San Siro clapped Alessandro Florenzi off the field but also gave a very warm welcome to Bartesaghi.

The coaching staff see the defender as a mature and serious player who is very applied, is capable of improving a lot – as he has in the last two years – and is deserving of such a special moment at just 17 years old.

It is a moment that will always remain in the head and heart of Bartesaghi, who joined the first team squad in preseason and many presumed it would be on a temporary basis while waiting for the signing of a new left-back, but instead he stayed.

Bartesaghi is the latest example of the excellent work done by the Rossoneri’s youth sector which culminated in the final four of the UEFA Youth League last season. Pioli is very satisfied with his development and considers him an important profile for the future, but also for the present.

For a few weeks the Milan management has been talking with Nick Arcuri, the agent of Bartesaghi as well as Real Madrid’s Brazilian talent Rodrygo.

A first professional contract for the teenager is on the table but because he is not yet an adult, the duration will be three years. There is not yet a total agreement but the parties are close and plan to define all the details soon.

Bartesaghi wants to strengthen his attachment to Milan and give himself more dream afternoons like the one he experienced against Verona.
