CM: Porto striker willing to wait as Milan weigh pros and cons of €18m offer

AC Milan need a new striker ahead of the upcoming season and they currently have several leads open on the mercato. Mehdi Taremi is one of their targets but the Rossoneri have not made a final decision yet.

Alvaro Morata appeared to be the main target for the centre-froward role but the high demands from Atletico Madrid, as well as the player, have forced Milan to look elsewhere. As a result, Taremi has been an increasingly popular hypothesis.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Iranian international has rejected several offers from Saudi Arabia and is willing to wait for Milan. This past season, the 30-year-old scored 22 goals in the league and 5 in the Champions League.

Milan have been in talks with Taremi’s entourage and a move could seemingly be possible at €18m. However, the Rossoneri are slightly hesitant as the striker would take their last non-EU spot, meaning they wouldn’t be able to sign Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal.

A lot will depend on the negotiations with Villarreal, therefore, and Taremi is willing to wait for now.
