CM: Positive news emerges regarding condition of Rebic as long absence is excluded

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have had some positive news about the injury sustained by Ante Rebic as he may not be out for as long as initially feared.

There was a moment of worry though as Rebic came off after clutching what looked like his ankle in the first half, and MilanNews reported that he was replaced due to a sprained left ankle. He left the field in the 32nd minute, and was then going to be evaluated by the Rossoneri medical staff.

Calciomercato.com writes that there is some good news for Milan. After Rebic left the field there was a fear of a stop of at least a few weeks, but instead the Croatian will be evaluated day by day. A call-up from the bench for the match in Porto on Tuesday cannot be ruled out.

Any damage to the ligaments was ruled out, but it is unlikely that he will start in Portugal on Tuesday. It will be up to Leao instead, but thankfully the winger is in a patch of brilliant form.
