CM: Raised demands and Barcelona interest – Milan still optimistic about Leao deal

By Oliver Fisher -

Another suitors has now come forward as AC Milan look to resolve the future of Rafael Leao over the summer, according to a report.

Today is Leao’s 23rd birthday, one which he can celebrate with a Scudetto in the bag after he helped the Rossoneri cruise to the finish line, racking up 3 goals and 6 assists in the final 6 games of the league season.

Calciomercato.com report how RedBird Capital and their main man Gerry Cardinale want to follow up on the work done by Elliott Management in continuing the journey back to being one of the elite clubs in Europe again, with Leao seen as a player to build around.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara made a first offer to Jorge Mendes in February of €4.5m net per season plus bonuses but now the request gravitates towards €6.5m per season plus bonuses, however the feeling is that a meeting point can be found.

After a meeting between Mendes and Barcelona, the Spanish newspaper Sport report that the Blaugrana are interested in the winger but it is difficult to transform into something more, given their financial situation.

  1. Jorge Mendes desperately makes up stories about big clubs interest in Rafael Leao so he can force Milan into raising their salary offer for his client.
After PSG, Real Madrid, ManCity , now it’s Barcelona’s turn. Same Barcelona that can’t register players they have signed for free because of financial problems are supposedly going to find 100+ mil to sign Leao.
    Sure , nice try Jorge

  2. Yeah right,,,, It’s BARCELONA who Milan should be afraid of… LOL! The only thing people should be afraid about Barca is that what will happen to all the players once the club goes under? 😀

  3. Didn’t you write here, a day or two ago, that Leao changed agent for some french layer??? How is then Jorge Mendes still representing him??? What is true now???
