AC Milan may represent a possible destination for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze this summer, according to a report.
Gotze’s current contract expires on June 30 meaning his representatives will actively be looking for a new destination for the World Cup winner.
It was recently reported by Bild that there are three clubs in the running to sign Gotze in the upcoming transfer window, namely Milan, Lazio and Roma.
According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Gotze dreams of a transfer to Italy as his next football adventure, something which linked to the future of his wife, Ann-Kathrin, a German model who has many working relationships with Italy.
Contacts were held with Lazio but their first offer was refused, and now Milan are starting to evaluate a possible swoop, something endorsed by Ralf Rangnick, the number one candidate to become the club’s next head coach.
The operation is still very complex as at the moment the ex-Bayern man earns almost €8million per year including bonuses, a figure that the Rossoneri management obviously has no desire to offer.
Gotze had already been proposed to Milan in the winter window, but now CEO Ivan Gazidis is studying the parameters of an offer that must be sustainable for the club.
