CM: Reina to complete Lazio move on Wednesday – how much Milan will save

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will receive a small fee and will make a big saving on salary as Pepe Reina closes in on a move to Lazio, a report claims.

Reina spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa but the English club have not tried to make it a permanent deal. Calciomercato.com recently reported that the 37-year-old goalkeeper has reached an agreement with Valencia over a two-year contract worth around €2m per season.

MilanNews then reported that Reina is one step away from joining Milan’s Serie A rivals Lazio. The Spanish goalkeeper has an agreement with the Biancoceleste on the basis of a two-year deal, and Milan will save about €6million gross given that the 37-year-old had a year left on his contract.

According to Calciomercato.com, Reina will complete his move to the Aquile on Wednesday and will sign a two-year contract at €2million net per season after his medical checks.

Lazio and Milan have agreed on a permanent sale which will see the Rossoneri receive a small compensation to the Rossoneri to cover part of the severance pay to free the Spaniard from his contract so he can move to the capital on a free transfer.
