Rade Krunic has a contract with AC Milan until 2025 and talks have been ongoing for months over a renewal. However, as a report claims, the negotiation has hit a stalemate and the Rossoneri could sell the midfielder.
The midfielder started this season in good form but has struggled since he recovered from a muscle injury. During his absence, Stefano Pioli was also able to test other solutions in midfield, including Yacin Adli and a tandem (with the 4-2-3-1).
Renewal hits stalemate
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are in talks with Krunic over a renewal but there is no agreement in sight. The Bosnian is asking for €3m per year to renew and this is considered way too high by the Rossoneri, especially since he’s over 30 years old.
The white smoke, as an agreement is often called, has not arrived and it’s more grey/black at the moment. Milan are willing to offer €2m plus an additional €500k but since the player’s request is so high, they are not against a sale either.
Fenerbahce remain interested
The report continues by citing the report from Turkish outlet Sporx, claiming that Fenerbahce will make a new attempt for the player. If the renewal stalemate were to remain, then Milan are willing to consider a sale. That way they can monetise Krunic’s exit instead of losing him for a nominal amount.
Why this sudden change of heart? Milan stood firm on the €15m demand in the summer but since then, Pioli has been able to integrate Yunus Musah and Yacine Adli has also been deployed. Furthermore, Ismael Bennacer will be back in mid-December and that would soften the blow.
