CM: Roma remain interested in Suso as Milan drop asking price

By Oliver Fisher -

Roma are still interested in a move for Suso, reports claim, after a meeting between the player’s agent and AC Milan took place on Friday.

The Spaniard’s future with Milan has been questioned since the hiring of Marco Giampaolo, who prefers a 4-3-1-2 formation which doesn’t utilise any wingers.

Suso was tried out as a trequartista by the new Milan boss in training, though that role is expected to be occupied by the more natural attacking midfielders Lucas Paqueta or Hakan Calhanoglu.

Alessandro Lucci, his agent, met with Rossoneri leaders at Casa Milan in order to discuss the future of his client, Calciomercato.com claims.

Suso remains a target for Roma, just as he was when Monchi was the sporting director, but it is claimed that the €38million release clause is far too high for the Giallorossi to consider.

Milan meanwhile value him at closer to €30m, but are not willing to accept Patrik Schick or Gregoire Defrel in return, who were two players offered as counterparts by Roma.

Suso – who has a contract at San Siro until June 2022 with a net salary of €3million – amassed seven goals plus 10 assists in 35 Serie A appearances last season.
