CM: Ruggeri shows why Atalanta turned down Milan’s summer approach

By Euan Burns -

Matteo Ruggeri is enjoying a patch of form which shows why Atalanta were unwilling to let him leave for AC Milan towards the end of the summer transfer window, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Italian defender is having a very good start to the season with La Dea and seems to have made the left wingback position his own, despite Mitchell Bakker’s arrival in the summer.

He was a part of the Atalanta academy and whilst searching for a deputy for Theo Hernandez in the summer, Milan made a proposal of around €8m including a loan spell for the Italian.

Atalanta said no to this offer because they felt the finances involved were too low, and so far this season, they have been proved right.

Hernandez is suspended for the match against Juventus and this is a time when Milan could do with a new left-back.
