CM: Samardzic rejects two clubs and only wants Milan – why a long negotiation is expected

By Oliver Fisher -

Lazar Samardzic is waiting and hoping that AC Milan will agree a deal with Udinese, a report claims, and he has rejected two other clubs in the meantime.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have identified Samardzic as the ideal playmaker to fill the ‘tactical and conceptual needs’ of Paulo Fonseca, offering him more solutions and a more technical player between the lines.

The operation has only just got underway and will proceed slowly because the negotiation has several points to resolve, but it is still very much possible and even probable considering that both Udinese and the Serbian talent want to reach the finish line with the Rossoneri.

Samardzic, since he learned of Milan’s new interest, has been pushing hard both with his entourage and with Udinese to go to a club that he had already come close to in the past. In fact, he has already turned down Lazio and Fenerbahçe.

That is because he would like to be sure of playing in the Champions League next season and doing so at San Siro is an opportunity he does not went to let slip by. Contacts between Geoffrey Moncada, his father-agent and the TDS agency have been positive.

The commissions and salary are not a problem and the plan is to give the Serbian a deal which would increase season after season (five years in total). Udinese are also aware that holding on to the 22-year-old doesn’t give them many benefits either.

However, the chances of a deal being done quickly are slim. Milan would first like to sell a midfielder such as Yacine Adli or Ismael Bennacer, and define other more urgent operations such as those for Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana and Red Bull Salzburg’s Strahinja Pavlovic

In the talks with Udinese, Moncada took note the request of €25m and the difficulties in identifying a possible counterpart. The parties are in contact but everything suggests that this negotiation will only get going starting next week.

  1. How many times we seen this type of news? ,,the player agreed personal terms” ,, the player is pushing for Milan” or ,,Milan waiting for a discount “
The a premier league comes pay 5-10 mil more and take the player

    1. Milan tries to first find an agreement with the player and tell him “if you really want to play for us, we will get the deal done” which is true if the player isn’t bluffing. If the player is bluffing, he’ll change his mind and sign for another club, but why would we want him at Milan? If the player isn’t bluffing, he’ll play for us eventually. Either now for the price we want to pay or later for free. It’s up to the player to convince his club that it’s Milan or nothing. Maybe we’ll miss out on a lot of players, but the management wants players who want to play and fight for us. In the end it’ll pay off. It’s a good strategy in today’s football were most players are only about the money and club loyalty means nothing to them. We want players that do have a good mindset.

      1. What nonsense. You talk as if this player is a milanista. He will play for milan if milan offer something he is worth if not he will play for the team that offers him the best. It’s that simple.

You are talking as if he is indebted to us. He could say all he wants that milan is the team I want to play for but if we offer nonsense and don’t Takeshi seriously then he will play for whatever team actually values him.

    1. There are no Quality Italian players available. If there are; please mention.

Let’s put the club first and not be too emotional about players.

      1. Wow.

So a football mad, 4 times World Cup winning country of 60m people has no ‘quality’ players?

Is it is something in the water?

What happened to all of the GREATS like…..Danielle Massaro?

Do you think Italy can ever dream of producing players again like Ambrosini?

I mean we certainly wouldn’t want to question what has gone wrong with the youth development that caused the Great Italian Drought.

Funny how you want to put the ‘club’ first by removing any attachment to the players who are the club.

It’s like expecting employees of a McDonald’s franchise to bleed yellow for the ‘brand’.

      2. Funny… so you think serbia has more quality and talented player than italy? We all know its not quality, its more about price. Italian is pricey. Just like in premier league, english club is over price english player..

          1. I am not talking about youth player.. last summer milan wanted frattesi but they considered him too expensive. They prefer player from other league which are cheaper. This summer milan wants to reinforce the defence and bungiorno is strong player and again milan shop around Europe to cheaper player.. in berlusconi time , milan appreciate italian player so much.. but not this days..

    2. Sportiello & Gabbia will probably be the only Italians in the team when the season starts. Calabria’s negotiations are going nowhere, Fonseca & Florenzi aren’t best friends and who else is there? A couple of “pure capital gain” guys who will be sold when a suitable offer comes.

  2. Yawn fest.
    Who cares

Id rather we just stop selling young talent like Simic, Thiaw and Bennacer.

We signed an average journeyman striker and can’t get a DM despite lots of good and reasonably priced options like Hojbjerg.

I just don’t want to see them dismantle what was a decent team any further

    1. I actually like thaiw. He had a bad season but you can see the way he plays he has a high ceiling. I genuinely believe when he becomes experienced he will be a great modern defender.

  3. Ok I actually thought this guy was a DM because I didn’t think we’d be stupid enough not to sign a DM!

Was there a player with a similar who was a DM?
