CM: Second-bottom, struggling for goals – Bonera not at risk but Milan Futuro must improve

AC Milan are not currently thinking about sacking Daniele Bonera as the head coach of Milan Futuro, a report claims, but they expect a change in the results soon.

As Calciomercato.com write, the Futuro are following the first team but not in the way that anyone wants, because both sides have not had a good start to the new season. On Saturday, the newly promoted Pianese beat Bonera’s side, and they are now second to last in the standings with just six points.

In a similar fashion to the senior side in the Fiorentina game, the players for the B-team showed themselves to be on edge having finished the match with nine men after the red cards awarded to Coubis and Minotti, the latter of whom will serve a five-game ban.

Milan Futuro have the worst attack in Group B of Serie C with just four goals scored in eight games. They have beaten only SPAL in the league, and first-place Pescara await them next. After a positive start to the season in terms of results, especially in the cup, the U23s are encountering evident difficulties.

It is precisely this aspect that worries the management because while the project has as its priority the developments of young players rather than the result, at this moment it is difficult to find clear signs of growth from those players, who are struggling from a lack of confidence.

Milan had taken into account that there would be difficulties at the beginning as Bonera had often repeated both in the presentation of the project and in his first post-match press conferences. The coach is not in question, he was a choice of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the performances must improve.

This is all while waiting for January, where the window could come to the rescue with the arrival of a new striker. For Milan Futuro, it is a question of taking advantage of the lessons learned from the first eight games.

  1. If I’m not mistaken, they pull out the best players every other week to sit on the senior team’s bench for matches, and I’m sure they’re pulled into practices as well. So not really sure what they thought was going to happen, it isn’t baseball for goodness sake. You can’t run it 100% like a farm team. I just don’t get how they don’t get it.

  2. Milan Futuro is a team that plays mostly players who are teenagers playing vs grown men.
It’s a team that literally didn’t exist up until 3 months ago. Got patched together over the summer.
What are people expecting to happen? Win the league because Camarda was playing?
BTW Juventus Next Gen has the same amount of points as Milan Futuro so far, 6. They are 18th in their league, Milan is 19th.
