CM: Southampton and Stuttgart came forward with loan offers for Milan winger – the background

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan received two loan offers for Jens Petter Hauge during the January transfer window but rejected both, a journalist has claimed.

The story of Hauge’s arrival is somewhat of a fairytale as he arrived at San Siro for a Europa League qualifier against Milan and by the end of the night we had reported exclusively about Milan’s interest in the Norwegian youngster.

So far Hauge has four goals in all competitions for the Rossoneri including three in Europe and one in the league against Napoli, but when Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao are fit he appears to be third in the pecking order on the right side.

Nicolo Schira reported yesterday that Leverkusen came forward with a loan offer for Hauge last week. However, the Rossoneri did not entertain the idea of sending the 21-year-old on loan.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Premier League side Southampton and Bundesliga surprise package Stuttgart probed the ground for the loan of Hauge. Maldini and Pioli sent the requests back to the sender as they were not interested in letting him leave.

Meanwhile, the player revealed he feels he has made the right choice in moving to the San Siro over some of the other teams that were interested like Manchester United, Atalanta and Red Bull Salzburg.
