CM: Spurs will not budge on €15m demands – Milan to proceed after evaluations

AC Milan had previously hoped to get the signing of Emerson Royal wrapped up over the weekend but it now looks like they will have to wait another few days, a report claims.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani expect to close this long negotiation with Tottenham by Wednesday at the latest with ‘decisive hours’ coming up. Spurs meanwhile are already looking for a replacement for the right-back.

The London club have been clear with Milan even in the last few hours: a fixed transfer fee of €15m is needed, otherwise they will not accept the bid. The Rossoneri directors offered €13m and, last weekend, expressed to Daniel Levy their willingness to reach €14m.

That’s not enough though, because Spurs are adamant about the figure, and while there was some hope that bonuses would help reach an agreement it seems they will not budge at all on the fixed amount demanded.

After careful internal evaluations, Milan are expected to say yes to the request and raise their bid. The Brazilian defender already has an agreement with the Rossoneri club for a four-year contract, with an option for a fifth, at €3m net per season.

The deal is unlikely to close today but between tomorrow and Wednesday. The final details are being resolved with Milan who will pay €15m and get cover for the right-back role after Alessandro Florenzi’s injury.
