CM: Star full-back happy to commit long-term future to Milan – talks over new deal expected

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Davide Calabria wants to commit his long-term future to the club amid a recent resurgence in form, a report claims.

Calabria seems to have found his best form again, having become a permanent fixture in the starting XI under Stefano Pioli since the back end of last season.

We saw what the Primavera graduate was capable of under Gennaro Gattuso when he showed excellent consistency, but that vanished in a difficult 2019-20 campaign.

Towards the end of last season though the Rossoneri full-back found the right condition physically and began to undergo a resurgence just as other members of the team did.

With his contract set to expire in June 2022, Milan will be looking to take steps to avoid finding themselves in another situation like the Donnarumma and Calhanoglu ones.

According to Calciomercato.com though, there are no doubts that Calabria is ready to discuss the renewal of his contract, suggesting that he is more than willing to commit his long-term future to the Rossoneri.

The headline adds: “In the coming months we will talk about a renewal.”
