CM: Arrival of striker could force Jovic to re-evaluate Milan future – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Luka Jovic renewed his contract with AC Milan at the start of the summer, then heading off to the Euros, and the Serbian is keen on staying at the club. However, according to a report, he could be forced to make a tough evaluation soon.

Jovic arrived on deadline day last summer as an emergency solution for Milan. While the start to the season was slow, he eventually got going and ended the campaign with nine goals and one assist. As such, he definitely did enough to convince the Rossoneri to renew the deal for another year.

However, as highlighted by Calciomercato.com this morning, Jovic could be forced to make a tough evaluation as Milan are looking at signing Tammy Abraham from Roma. The competition for the No.9 role would thus be fierce and could perhaps make Jovic rethink his future.

So far, the Serbian striker has made it very clear that he wants to stay at the club, even rejecting offers from abroad. He’s keen on proving himself under Paulo Fonseca’s management and will not give up at the first hurdle. With that in mind, he could also decide to stay even with the arrival of a striker.

Milan will face Barcelona on Tuesday (local time) and Jovic could perhaps get the chance from start after coming off the bench last time out.

  1. Have Nasti in similar role to Jimenez, constant time at futuro and helping senior squad if needed. Okafor can also play there, since Saelemakers stay might give him problems minute-wise.
