CM: The starting XI Pioli tested in training plus latest on Messias and Florenzi’s recovery

Some more suggestions regarding the team Stefano Pioli intends to use against Porto tomorrow night are beginning to emerge after this afternoon’s training.

As per Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, the team that Pioli tried in training today comprised of Ciprian Tatarusanu in goal with Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez as the back four in front of him from right to left. Despite this, he reports that Alessio Romagnoli should come in and Kjaer will rest.

The double pivot should comprise of Franck Kessie and Sandro Tonali with the Ivorian back from suspension in the reverse fixture, while Brahim Diaz should rejoin the attacking department with Alexis Saelemaekers and Rade Krunic to the right and left of him respectively and Olivier Giroud as the centre-forward.

He adds that Alessandro Florenzi did the second part of training on the pitch but individually, while Junior Messias did some work in the gym and Rebic also did individual work.

The Milan XI tested (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kjaer (Romagnoli), Tomori, Theo; Kessie, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Krunic; Giroud.
