CM: Theo Hernandez could miss three games with Covid – a chance for the €4.2m man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be without Theo Hernandez for at least the next two games and that means an opportunity has presented itself to other players.

Calciomercato.com reports that the French full-back will miss at least two games: the one on Saturday against Hellas Verona and the one next Tuesday against Porto which is huge for any hopes of getting through the Champions League group stage, with an eye on the following weekend against Bologna being his return but he could also miss that.

In terms of replacing him, Fodé Ballo-Touré is the first choice after he arrived from Monaco for €4.2m plus €500k bonuses over the summer, in search of some momentum after a quiet start. He has so far made appearances against Lazio, Venice, Atalanta and Atletico Madrid, racking up 112 minutes.

Davide Calabria could find space on the left as he has done in times of emergency and then Pierre Kalulu would slot in, but even in this case it would remain a distant idea.

Should play ballo toure and promote young Milos kerkez to the bench, the kid has looked good in his recent internationals

    1. Zoro Caloro says:

Should start Kerkez. Ballo toure hasn’t been good at all in anything besides being fast in attack. Liability at the back for sure unfortunately… Tomori being forced to work extra hard to cover for ballo….

    2. JOHN THE BAPTIST says:

With Theo and Milos kerkez, our left back position is covered for the next 15 years.
He should not be rushed into the first team yet.

      1. Zoro Caloro says:

Yeah and nor should donnarumma have been rushed when he was only a kid…. oh wait… I’ve seen kerkez and he has the confidence to pull it off. Maybe ballo toure will step up but I’d rather give Kerkez at least some minutes.

Well not everyone is Messi you know!
Seeing Hakim Mastour go down the drain makes me want to protect this gem in my hand

  2. RocketRacoon says:

Ballo Toure has been very weak so far, hopefully he will improve for the next games but I don’t expect much from him based on what he’s shown so far, tbh.

  3. Agustinar says:

Fode is not confincing yet. Kerkez? interesting. He scored in pre season. Verona is a fairly good test for him.

  4. moon says:

Kerkez is too young and Ballo-Touré too weak. We have a real problem now.
