CM: Theo, Maignan, Leao and Tonali among Milan stars unhappy with Maldini’s sacking

A number of AC Milan’s star players have not taken the news of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s sacking well, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Milan squad have been left disappointed by the news that Maldini and Massara will no longer continue in their roles as the technical and sporting director of the club.

The source mentions Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan, Sandro Tonali and Rafael Leao in particular as being unhappy with the news. Indeed, Milan’s most representative players ‘did not take the club’s decision very well’.

They were attached to the two directors and grateful to those who first decided to bring them to the club. They know that they owe a lot to Maldini and Massara and as soon as they learned that there will be leaving, it was not a positive reaction.

Leao has just renewed until 2028 also thanks to Maldini’s work, while Theo only arrived after the former captain’s trip to Ibiza convinced him to join Milan over Bayer Leverkusen.

Tonali has been a Milan fan since he was a child, meaning grew up with the legend of Maldini, who helped him achieve his childhood dream by playing for the club he loves so much.

What about Maignan? Well, Maldini and Massara decided to move strongly for him Donnarumma’s farewell and convinced him he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

  1. Apa jadinya jika mereka semua keluar ?
Dan mengganti mereka dengan orang orang payah yang tidak berpengalaman

  2. Even Theo, Leao, Maignan and Tonali are unhappy, with Maldini and Massara departures.. But someone, here is on cloud nine, M&M departures! While pretending to, care about the club..

    1. @Milan fan, you remember how you told me to get a job?
Well I’m thankfully very much employed.
Go help Maldini fill out a job application and find a job, just make sure the job is not in SALES.

      1. @Poli Maldini has already made, more than you will ever make in your life..😭🤣 Why are you triggered? Did I even, mention your name?

      2. Maldini doesn’t need a job, he will enjoy his retirement in Miami like he did before returning to Milan. He only came back to Milan because Milan need him.

  3. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguidala, Draymond Green were also unhappy after Mark Jackson got fired as their coach because they were so emotionally attached to him.
But after he was replaced with a better coach in Steve Kerr, they won the title in the next season and they got over Mark Jackson really quick.
And after 6 trips to the finals and 4 rings they definitely realized that was the best decision possible made by their ownership.

    1. Glad for them but I only care about Milan and if any (or all!) of those mentioned players were to hand over a transfer request Milan’s near future will be doomed.

      1. This is AC Milan @bb, not AC Maldini.
Any player who is unhappy and wants to leave because Maldini isn’t there anymore, should go and put in his transfer request.
        Doesn’t matter who it is.
As long they don’t leave for free and we get money in return to replace them with players with equal or better quality.
        Everyone is replaceable.
As a famous coach once said::
        I need volunteers, not hostages.
Whoever is not happy can leave.
Everyone is replaceable. Next man up.
Messi left Barca, after a 1 bad year they just won the title.
Cristiano left RMADRID, that didn’t stop them from winning the UCL.
Zlatan left inter and they immediately won the treble.
None of our players are on the level of those 3 and their teams did just fine without them.
Milan existed before Maldini and will exist just fine after Maldini

        1. that was different decades or years before you must be delusional if u think with this team can win somethin milan needs depth and it should ressemble the first 11 somethin that isnt gonna happen with targets like arnautovic and loftus cheek and you have to agree with that also with no origi messias gabbia rebic florenzi ballo toure only one st and pobega

        2. “As long they don’t leave for free and we get money in return to replace them with players with equal or better quality.”

First of all, who’s gonna replace them? Milan will probably have the pecking orders and “who does what”-things in some kind of order just after the mercato is closed.

Then there’s “this one small thing” where you’d replace Theo Hernandez with a equal or better quality. How? Who? One of the best players in his position in the whole world. Cost Milan peanuts. His replacement will cost double what Milan would get for him. Same goes for Leao & Maignan.

Milan has no money to lure the “equal or better players” to join. No more “Maldini-effect” either. The morale will be low. Who wants to join a club like that? Maybe some 18-20-year-old future prospects but after CDK I’d prefer to get real players who actually can help the team now and not MAYBE in 2-5 years.

        3. What makes you think that if we sell the players, the money would be used to REINVEST in better players?

We earnt WAY ALOT MORE this season from UCL and still no further improvement for the warchest.

You fell into Cardinale’s trap hook, line and sinker. Maldini tried to fight for us, but instead you’re bashing him. Please kindly support other team instead.

          Cheers.

        4. Just ignore the fact those clubs had huge strength in depth!
Do we have Hazard, Bale, Asensio on the bench?
Do we have Benzema to step up.
Do we have hundreds of millions to spend on the best young talent in world football?

No Madrid coping without Ronaldo is no way similar to Milan losing any of the 4 or 5 top class players on the team

        5. Ya except Real Madrid, Barca and even Inter spend $$$ and we don’t LOL and they didn’t have to convince players to accept lower wages to stay at their respective clubs donkey. They replaced Ronaldo by spending $$ on replacements like Vinicius JR – and not players like Messias LOL. Love the cherry picking but you examples like your arguments are weak and feeble. Like we said this isn’t about Maldini. This is about Redbird signaling their intention NOT to spend $ yet again. No TRUE fan should be happy about that. Profit over Titles is the Redbird/Elliot way

    2. @Poli this isnt basketball lol you are prolly american thats why u sucking crap redbird toes and go play baseball you stupid american

        1. call whatever you want but apparemtly you are not milan fan because these causes issue in the team and many players could try to leave if they leave your beloved management they will replace them with cheap deals and low quality players look who they want to replace massara and maldini . igir tare and modesto from monza? in the end we will get alegri mirabeli galiani like please go and be the slave of cardinale

    3. De Ligt, Kimmich, Goretzka, Pavard were unhappy with Nagelsmann sacking.. See: how did it pan out..

Oh now, bro is comparing Football with Basketball, to support his BS claims!😭🤣

          1. What facts?
            They are still at bayern.
            They still won the title.
And they will continue to be at bayern and win more titles.
What are you even trying to do here?
You just looking worse and worse after every word you type

          2. @Poli When Nagelsmann was their coach, they were competing in three fonts.. Then they sacked him, and appointed Tuchel! And? They were knocked, out of German Cup by SC Freiburg.. Were comfortably dismantled by Manchester City in UCL.. They won the Bundesliga; while almost crumbling till the end, that too because Dortmund bottled against Mainz.. Who looked worse? You mean, the guy, who was comparing Football with Basketball?

    4. What sport are you taking about basketball or something else this is European football sir. These players are paid for role they play What if I say what if they don’t take agree with management decision…if the atmosphere gets messed up the situation will be different.. it seems like our club makes all the headlines for negative reasons….the only solution is everyone should come clean and may be the blame game should settle down it looks like the players who are employees of this club don’t know where the ship is heading which my friend is not good for any business or sports…

      1. Milan is bigger than Maldini you donut, wtf kind of garbage club do you support that only has one good player ever?

    5. In NBA, players are treated like slave, they can’t decide which club they play for when they are under contract, the club can trade them to other club without the player’s agreement.

      1. They can ask to be traded, just like a footballer can ask to be transferred, but again that wasn’t the point.
The point is that those athletes got over it after a person that they were attached to got fired and still didn’t ask to leave.
This are professionals not emotional people on a playground . They got contracts

        1. The point is, obedience is more ingrained in NBA club/franchise as the player with long term deals know from the beginning their future is dictated by the club/franchise. They can request transfer but not the destination, they can be sent to destination they hate.

          1. Kyrie Irving asked for a trade and he got traded.
Kevin Durant asked for a trade with 4 years left on his contract and still got traded.
No team wants to keep unhappy players..
No one mention anything about a destination.
Footballers can ask for transfers and sometimes they can pick their destination, other not.
Zaniolo got shipped off to turkey, do you think he picked turkey? He wanted to stay in Italy and go to Milan but the club put their foot down and they sent him to Galatasaray

          2. Its still different though, in NBA, players is just like a contract you traded. In football, when your club want to sell you to club X, you can reject the contract from club X and the move fail. Not in NBA, if your club want you to move to club X, you have to obey.

        2. You seem too wise to own a club, pessimistic are always around. They add no value but they feed on value. You argument sucks. American investors in football are primitive and cannot hold the hot iron of changing dynamics of world football. They only see profit.

        3. Basketball is not historical sport like football. The players are not nurtured by club, so there is no emotional connection like in football. Milan is a big family and it is the trademark of our beloved club, and Maldini is the face of Milan for decades. If you don’t understand this by default, you are not one of us Milan fans.

        4. Culture in football, especially in Italy is different. You cannot compare it apple to apple. Maldini is half of Milan. Supporters, sponsors, and players will be affected by this bed decision.

    6. Any team with the quality of players you mentioned can still do well with a new coach. See what happened to us this season with injuries. Sometimes, you wonder who the coach will bring in, with no quality on the bench. These people have not spent big to expect so much. They have a hidden agenda, and, I fear it will end up in failure.

    7. The comparison is wrong in some ways right in others. Jackson was never a GSW legend like Maldini is to AC Milan,.so when they fired him he had no attachment to the organization like that. If it was say the Bulls fired Jordan if he was a coach then that would make more sense. However, Jackson was instrumental in putting the team together and players said afterwards that he was instrumental in their development like Maldini is to the current crop. Jackson’s firing was also a shock as is Maldini. He had a 50+ game winning season and first actual winning season in over 20 years for the organization… similar to our banter era drought. I wouldn’t say Kerr is a better coach but he arrive after a solid base was formed by Jackson. I’m pretty sure if Jackson stayed he would have eventually won a chip. But like Maldini he had demands which didn’t go well with upper. Whoever is going to take over AC is now going to have a solid base to start with and can go on to win chips.
Maybe a better analogy would be Larry Bird who is an Indiana legend (as well as Celts) was Pacers head coach before being shifted to a different part of the organization in a still useful role rather than being fired. Maybe that’s what they should have done.
I wonder what Baresi is feeling biw

  4. You seem too wise to own a club, pessimistic are always around. They add no value but they feed on value. You argument sucks. American investors in football are primitive and cannot hold the hot iron of changing dynamics of world football. They only see profit.

  5. So we have another Tedd Boehly who thinks that he can come inside European football and act like an arrogant yankee. Americans should stay out from European football or at least try to learn from people like Maldini…

    1. The only difference is one is crazy in spending the money while the other one is crazy in keeping the money.

I mean, come on, we just got into semifinal of UCL, there is no way the budget is just the same as last year when we were eliminated in group stage, right?

  6. No things will be well this season I bet all of u Acmilan will sign perfect players but I think want to replace Maldini and massara then transfer will start immediately

  7. I tend to avoid commenting here because of all the unnecessary fights, but there was something here that needed to be highlighted so much. That is, only time will tell what happens next but it is clear as day that the way Maldini was treated is absolutely shocking. Remember, when he started, players were preferring Bayer Leverkusen to Milan and he (admittedly not alone) helped us become what we are now.

    1. Yes indeed, very disrespectful way to treat THE club legend.
Maldini has never been fired in his life. Never by Milan. Who the hell is this rat Gerry to do something like that? He’s clearly a bloody fool!

  8. Do you all believe on calciomercato news? If yes then it is disaster. The source not reliable. Nobody unhappy from them , if they unhappy they will asking transfer request. If you are AC Milan fans, you will support even without Maldini. But if you still Maldini die hard fans , then it is your choice too for abandon Ac Milan
