CM: ‘There is time’ – Samardzic pushing for move as Milan agree to pay commission

By Isak Möller -

Lazar Samardzic is one of the key targets for AC Milan this month and although there is a total agreement with the player, Udinese are yet to show any openings. As highlighted by a report, though, there is time to work on the matter.

Samardzic’s name emerged as a concrete option for Milan a few weeks back and although there was optimism initially, the negotiations have cooled down. As reported by Calcomercato.com, Udinese are yet to show any openings after demanding €20m plus bonuses for the player.

Milan believe that the player is worth less, with a contract expiring in 2026, and the will of the player is also important. An agreement has been reached on personal terms and also with the attacking midfielder’s father/agent, who would get a commission of ‘less than €5m’.

‘There is time’ to accelerate the talks again, as the report states, and it remains to be seen if Udinese will lower their demands slightly. Only then can Milan make a new move for the player, with focus currently on a few other positions such as the defensive midfield.

In the meantime, Paulo Fonseca has been giving the youngster Mattia Liberali the chance in the No.10 role and he has impressed a lot.

  1. Roma are asking 12-13M for Bove according to few Italian sources…

Rovella is under-question and Lazio might not want to trigger release clause…

Kayode might not like to be a second fiddle to Dodo since he’s the starter after his return… they also really needs midfielders which we are trying to get rid of, namely Pobega and Adli…

Colpani went to Fiorentina on loan + option, who is a Milanista and would have been cheeper and better option that Samardzic…

    Pobega-Ricci swap?

Pobega-Bellanova swap? (ex-Milan academy player, bit more RM than RB, but he can shift there like he and DiMarco do for Italy)

There are so many young Italians that we are overlooking every time, when there is clear prospect of getting them. Once they blow up like Calafiori, we get edged out by EPL teams. So, it makes sense to get them beforehand. Any of these midfielders are upgrade to Pobega, while RBs are way more exciting than Emerson…

    1. You seem to have an obsession for bum players like Bove and Rovella. At least Ricci is half a decent player.
Lazio is not sure if they wanna keep Rovella but somehow he is good enough for Milan? Juventus have been trying to get rid of him for couple of years.
      Bellanova is a horrendous defender.
Fiorentina will ask 40 mil for Kayode. He will be following Udoge to the EPL.

      1. under-21 are bums apparently… Musah is raw, but Rovella and Bove bums, their careers are already over or how can players that just started their careers be bums?

Lazio might not want a raw player that doesn’t fit their new system, they have a new coach. Juve also sold a lot of its talents for way less due to their financial situation.

Bove was brought up by Fonseca himself, and was constantly played by Mourinho. He’s good at defense, but everyone just wants more N8s and N10s…

        1. If you already have Musah who is 21 and raw, why would you need more players who are 21 and raw?
Are you trying to win or collect raw Roma and Lazio rejects just because they are Italian.
Lazio has no midfielders to speak of. Rovella didn’t play much last season either.
Fonseca had bum players when he was at Roma, so just because he threw in couple young players towards the end of the season when everything was lost doesn’t mean he thinks highly of Bove.
Bove made his professional debut for Roma on the 9 May 2021, replacing Ebrima Darboe in the second half of a 5–0 Serie A win against Crotone at the Stadio Olimpico.
I’ll rather keep Pobega than those 2 Roma and Lazio rejects.

          1. You need depth, you can’t have 6 prepared players in midfield. You need mixture of raw and experienced players: Fofana, Reijnders, Bennacer, RLC, Pulisic (Pulisic will be used as N10, other than that 4 already exp players, guess who will play the most these guys or raw players?). Musah and young player with potential who is also Italian (yes, this issue makes us register 3-4 less players every year at UCL) finish the midfield construction.

bring depth for cheap, 12M for Bove is a steal. Put some more money and go for Ricci, if Bove is “bum”. raw players need to not cost us the lead, don’t complain on time, grow so when we lose a player or they are injured or under-perform, they can give us at least time until next transfer market.

          2. @king22

Consider Zeroli and Liberali in Futuro. Rather than buying Bove et al, I suspect they will be worked in for games against the bottom of the table for rest/rotation. That will season them in the event of injury to the big guns.

Only if Musah doesn’t progress in first half of season (I have to admit I am losing a bit of hope after the Copa) would we _need_ another raw talent on the first team.

In my mind this is the beauty and power of the investment in Futuro. These kids will also naturally be majority Italian as well.

So I hope we don’t need anyone in the raw potential category now, but we will know much more about that for the Jan window.

            Forza Milan.

    2. I think the reason they’re not going after Italians for the first team is because they’re loading up the Primavera and Futuro with Italians. While they’re not as far ahead in their development as the likes of Kayode and Ricci, they’re younger and of course cheaper. I’m sure the plan is for Camarda, Liberali, Scotti, Zeroli and Barteshagi to be cornerstones for years to come.

      1. In the meantime we can’t register 4-5 players for UCL… I get your logic and this also seems like a great green flag, hiring of Fonseca, Moncada, development of Futuro and this preseason already show that what your saying should be the reason… let’s pray out of 11-12 players we at least get 3-4 gems, and 2-3 subs…

  2. No point in buying Lazar if he isn’t gonna play. Take 15M from this and 15M from Fofana and that’s 30M. You can work with that sum for a solid DM.
